What is ‘F.A.S.T.’ about? The plot of Sheridan’s new film
Sheridan’s new movie, F.A.S.T., was announced in early May 2025. In the initial announcement, it was also revealed that Sklenar would be starring in it, meaning that he would reunite with the man who created his breakout role in the Yellowstone prequel, 1923. It will also reunite them with cinematographer Ben Richardson, who also worked on 1923 with them.
“This script. This character. This team,” Sklenar wrote on Instagram after the film was announced in May of this year. “So much gratitude.”
The plot is expected to follow a special forces commando (Sklenar) who gets recruited to work with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to help lead a strike team against high-level Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) protected drug dealers.

Warner Bros is expected to produce it, Sheridan wrote the script and Richardson is expected to direct it. It will be his first feature film, as he has previously focused on cinematography and photography. He has two Emmy award nominations for his work on Yellowstone (2019) and Mare of Easttown (2022). It will also be the first time since 2021 that Sheridan has written a full-length film.
“The breadth of Taylor Sheridan’s body of work is simply astounding and unparalleled in sheer excellence and consistent quality, and we could not be more honored to be making this film with him,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group’s Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “With the hugely talented director Ben Richardson behind the camera and the exceptional producing talents of Heyday Films and Bosque Ranch, we are thrilled to have such an incredible creative team bringing F.A.S.T. to the big screen.”
Currently, F.A.S.T. is in production and is expected to hit theaters in 2027 and as of publication, the movie is not supposed to connect to the Yellowstone or Landman universe in any way.
