Forest and Pluto share a sweet reunion on a Disney cruise. You’ll tear up!
Ashton McGrady and her service dog Forest have been taking on the world side by side since 2020, and in a viral video currently circulating Reddit, Forest’s personality was on full display. Originally shared to TikTok back in March, Forest stole hearts in the video showcasing his adorable meetup with one of his favorite Disney characters, Pluto. McGrady was enjoying a vacation aboard a Disney cruise when the reunion took place, and it’s safe to say that Forest was more than happy to have some fun with the beloved pup.
In the video, Forest excitedly approaches Pluto while holding a plush doll of him in his mouth. Pluto gets on the floor with the service dog, playing around with the adorable golden retriever in the interaction we can’t get enough of. For Forest, this wasn’t his first interaction with the Disney dog. The duo first crossed paths in Disney World in 2021, sparking the service pup’s original interest.

“Either we will intentionally go seek Pluto out to say hello, or Pluto has sought us out,” McGrady told PEOPLE. “Pluto stepped out of the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Walt Disney World to say hello to Forest because we were right there in front, and he stopped to wave and blow kisses at Forest. It was adorable.”
McGrady, who deals with Gitelman syndrome, POTS, autism, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and an inoperable cyst in her spinal cord, has been able to enjoy a lot more independence thanks to Forest’s presence in her life. “We had a great time,” she told PEOPLE. “They were so accommodating, and Forest loved it. He got to play in the water a little bit at their private island, Castaway Cay. Obviously, we got to greet some characters. And he was a very good boy.”
How did people react to Forest and Pluto?
When passengers aboard the Disney cruise heard this adorable commotion taking place, they stopped what they were doing to investigate. Many onlookers stepped out from shops to take a peek and some cast members aboard the trip were even seen tearing up at the heartwarming display. Viewers on social media also took to the comments on both the original TikTok post as well as Reddit to share the love.
“Those dogs are such good pups and work so hard to keep their owners safe, it’s nice to see them play for a bit ❤️,” said one TikTok user. “Probably the highlight of the cast members day, nothing but happiness,” wrote another. One Reddit user wrote, “I love how he looks like he actually cares for his job, he’s amazing and moments like these are what restore my faith in humanity.”
