What is ‘Finding Her Edge’ about?

Finding Her Edge is a romance/sports drama, following competitive ice skaters. Featuring love triangles, family legacy and complicated feelings, this new series is the perfect watch for fans of Young Adult reads!
The official plot for Finding Her Edge reads: “The series follows the three Russo sisters, heirs to a struggling figure skating dynasty. As middle sister, seventeen-year-old Adriana trains for the World Championships with new partner Brayden, while still harboring feelings for her first love and former partner, Freddie. Her life becomes complicated when she and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice so they can land a sponsorship to keep the financially struggling Russo rink afloat.”
Meet the cast: Madelyn Keys and Cale Ambrozic lead the Russo dynasty

The main love triangle that will be featured in the series includes Madelyn Keys as Adriana Russo, Cale Ambrozic as Brayden Elliot, and Oliver “Olly” Atkins as Freddie O’Connell. The rest of the cast is Alexandra Beaton as Elise Russo, Alice Malakhov as Maria Russo, Millie Davis as Riley Monroe and Harmon Walsh as Will Russo.
The real-life inspiration: How Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir sparked the story

As for the inspiration of Finding Her Edge? Author Jennifer Iacopelli found her story while watching the 2018 Winter Olympics.
“The very first spark of the idea was during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang [South Korea],” Iacopelli shared in an interview. “Like most of the world, I was totally enraptured by [Tessa] Virtue and [Scott] Moir’s incredible skating, but what truly resonated for me was the constant speculation that they were dating and everyone’s outright refusal to believe that they weren’t in a romantic relationship. I thought that was a fascinating idea and absolutely would be a fascinating dynamic to explore in fiction: what if the whole world thought you were dating, but you really weren’t. I thought it lent itself even more so to YA because of the kind of pressure that would put on young athletes who have so much to deal with as teenagers in an elite sport, trying to defy the odds and make it to the Olympics.”
