The tournament, which began with nine Jeopardy! legends, is played every week until they reach the top three. And once that happens, the remaining contestants compete in one last game, hoping to win $500,000. And after a very tough final game, Yogesh Raut was crowned the winner. Below, we have found out everything you need to know about the contestant, including who he had to beat to earn such an esteemed title. Read on for more.

A look at who is in the ‘Jeopardy! Masters’ semi-final round

Before winning Jeopardy! Masters Raut had to compete aganist none other than Victoria Groce, Issac Hrisch, Juveria Zaheer. This came after they defeated Neilesh Vinjamuri, Adriana Harmeyer, Brad Rutter, Roger Craig and Matt Amodio in previous rounds.

It was also the second time Groce and Raut have been invited into the semi-finals, as both of them competed in Season 2, with Groce taking home the prize after defeating both Raut and the Jeopardy! Masters Season 1 winner James Holzhauer.

That all changed in Season 3 though, when after a very tough final game. Raut beat Groce, making him this years Jeopardy! master

Raut, is originally from New York City and currently works as a blogger, podcaster and freelance writer. He originally appeared on Jeopardy! back in 2023, where he won three games. From there he went onto win the  Tournament of Champions in 2024, and was on Season 2 of Jeopardy! Masters, where he did loose to Groce.

“It took decades of hard work and dedication to put myself in a position to win the ToC [Tournament of Champions] and it took a great deal of luck for me to triumph over equally skilled competitors,” Raut said on the Jeopardy! website in 2024. “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the first knowledge quizzing demonstrations I ever gave involved knowing states, capitals, and U.S. presidents.”

“Growing up as the child of immigrants, with a foreign-sounding name in the heart of Central Illinois, I had to prove every day that I was an American. Negotiating exclusion is fundamentally intertwined with my drive for learning. In my struggle to not be a perpetual outsider, I quickly became attuned to listening to others, finding out what they cared about, and developing ways of having conversations about those things despite living in a household where most of Americana was unfamiliar and most contemporary pop culture was shunned. Trivia’  sticks with us precisely because it is not trivial. Not only is it inherently interesting, but for less privileged members of society, sometimes it’s a matter of survival.”

Now that Raut has won Season 3 of Jeopardy! Masters he will be invited back for Season 4, but his fellow contestants have yet to be announced.
