‘Fear Factor: House of Fear’: Everything to know about the reboot
Fear Factor: House of Fear will be a reboot of the hit original show Fear Factor, which ran from 2001 until 2021. The plot will follow a group of 14 strangers who must live on an island together and compete in a variety of dangerous challenges. If they can’t complete those challenges, they risk being eliminated.
Johnny Knoxville, 54, best known for his role in MTV’s J-ck-ss, will be the host and, according to the show’s official log line, the whole thing is expected to be “bigger, bolder and more daring.”

“Dropped into an unforgiving, remote location, a group of strangers will live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting—and fear is a weapon,” the logline continued. “Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the massive grand prize [of $200,000].”
What Joe Rogan said about not hosting ‘Fear Factor’ reboot
As mentioned above, Rogan will not be the host of the reboot and while he hasn’t publicly commented on being replaced, he has opened up about his time on the show. In a 2019 episode of The Joe Rogan Podcast, the 58-year-old said that there was an episode where the contestants had to ride 2,000 lb angry bulls, which he said “scared the sh-t out of me.”
“We had people ride bulls. It was the only time I told contestants: ‘Don’t do it’,” Rogan said. “I said, ‘But you don’t know how to ride a bull. We’re not teaching you how to ride a bull. You’re not going through classes. You’re not slowly, but surely building up your techniques.’
“And we had this girl, she was like 98 pounds. She got launched off the back of this bull,” he continued. “She was tough as sh-t. But I felt and everybody did, in that one we got lucky. I feel like we rolled the dice because if they stomp you, they lacerate livers and crush spleens, and they can stomp you.”
