Sci-fi shows coming to Disney + in 2026

To no one’s surprise, all of the sci-fi shows coming to Disney+ are somehow related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Some of them are new characters, whereas others are returning characters that are finally going to have their own individual moment. You can view the entire breakdown below.

‘Wonder Man’

Wonder Man will be the first Marvel show releasing in 2026, and it will follow a man named Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II)—a.k.a. Wonder Man—who works in the superhero movie industry. Soon enough, however, reel becomes real asSimon finds himself becoming meta-humanly empowered, blurring the lines between fact and fiction.

“We’re doing something that, tonally, feels much different than any other Marvel show, or any other films,” Abdul-Mateen told Empire earlier this year. “We’re doing something that’s fresh, and a bit tongue-in-cheek, a bit self-aware.”

Wonder Man will debut on Disney + on Tuesday, January 27.

Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is expected to follow Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he continues his superhero journey. Details of what that looks like remain a mystery, but Disney has confirmed that Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) will be appearing in it, marking the first time Jones has officially appeared in the MCU after previously having her own Netflix series.

“I’ve known for almost two years,” Ritter said on the Bingeworthy podcast earlier this year. “A long time. It’s either been talked about, in the works or in some state for a long time. So, keeping that secret and keeping the enthusiasm and waiting until the [Marvel] upfronts to announce it, when it was finally out, I was, like, ‘Oh my God!’ I’m always pretending I’m not in New York…keeping secrets because I get asked about it daily.”

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to air on Disney + in March of 2026.

‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2

Want to travel back in time? Then be sure to check out Season 2 of the animated show X-Men ’97. Similar to Season 1, it’s expected to follow the superhero gang as they try to fight villains in the 1990s, but with a major twist: the group is now split apart. Some of them are even further back in the past, whereas others went to the future. Can they find their way back to each other? Only Season 2 will tell.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 is expected to release on Disney + in the summer of 2026.

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2

Speaking of animated shows, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is also coming back for a second season. Like the films, it follows Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) as he battles a variety of super villains. Season 2 will follow the same premise, but will feature fan favorite villains Doc Ock, Scorpion and more.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 is expected to release on Disney + in the fall of 2026.

‘VisionQuest’

One of the most anticipated new Marvel shows is VisionQuest, a spin-off of WandaVision, which is expected to follow White Vision (Paul Bettany) as he tries to figure out who he really is. Ultron (James Spader) is also expected to make an appearance in the show, but details as to what that means remain unclear.

“I play a robot, right? And what’s lovely about that is you can talk to a vast audience, often young people. I mean, people of all ages can see it, but Vision is in the business of discovering who he is. And so, on one level, it’s a show about intergenerational trauma with lasers, and I love that Vision is always in a process of becoming,” Bettany teased to Nerds of Color earlier this year. “I think children, young people, are in that business, too, trying to find out who they are, and in the end, you are who you say you are, not who your family thinks you are, not who your church thinks you are, not who your friends think you are. You are who you say you are, and I think that’s the powerful thing about the character, Vision.”

VisionQuest is expected to release on Disney + sometime in 2026.
