How long does cake last in the fridge?

The storage life of a single cake slice or a whole cake in the fridge ranges from three days to up to a week. This depends on the type of frosting and fillings used in the dessert. Despite this, you should store the cake in an airtight to prevent any air from drying it out. This also keeps outside fridge odors from affecting the cake’s sweet flavor.

On the other hand, if you do notice changes in the cake’s odor, color and texture those are clear signs it’s spoiled and shouldn’t be consumed. (Want to learn another dessert storage trick? Read our guide on how to store pies in the freezer so they stay fresh and delicious for months.)
