This S’mores Hot Chocolate Recipe Is a Rich and Sweet Winter Drink Sensation: Make It in 10 Minutes
The caramelized flavor of s’mores meets the sweetness of hot chocolate—offering the best of both worlds
If sipping hot chocolate is part of your plan to stay warm this winter, I’d like to introduce you to a tastier version of the drink: s’mores hot chocolate. The sweet and toasty flavors of s’mores meet the decadent flavors of hot chocolate in this two-in-one sip. It’s not too different from the viral toasted marshmallow hot chocolate as the s’mores kind includes crushed graham crackers as a crunchy topping. You only need five ingredients to make s’mores hot chocolate for the ultimate cozy sip that’s brimming with nostalgia. Read on for more on how to whip up this drink.
What is s’mores hot chocolate?
This drink consists of hot chocolate that’s topped with toasted marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs. It’s rich, sugary and nutty—a trio of flavors to satisfy your taste buds. Also, the graham cracker bits add a nice touch of crunchiness.
Easy trick for toasting marshmallows without a torch
A kitchen torch is a handy tool for charring the marshmallows in seconds, but if you don’t have one use your broiler instead. This oven setting caramelizes the surface of the marshmallows so the outside is brown and the inside is gooey. It’s worth noting that you should broil the marshmallows on a parchment-lined baking sheet first and then place them on top of the drink just before serving.
Can you use fluff instead of marshmallows for this drink?
Yes, marshmallow fluff is fine to use in place of marshmallows. It’s best to use a kitchen torch for this since the spread is sticky and can be tricky to spread onto a baking tray. Simply spoon your desired amount of fluff onto the drink and gently toast it using a kitchen torch until the top is fully browned.
