Fun festivities await in “the Hostess City of the South!” Thanks to a profound Irish presence that began with the first settlers in the 1730s, this historic Georgia city goes all out for St. Patrick’s Day with green fountains, live music, street parties and one of the largest and most elaborate parades in the United States.

Explore Savannah’s rich history and authentic Irish cuisine

Start your day at the Savannah History Museum, located in the former Central of Georgia Railway passenger station. See an early 20th-century steam locomotive, archaeological finds from the Revolutionary War and other fascinating pieces of history. Afterward, head to the nearby Wexford, Savannah’s Irish pub, for a bite to eat. Enjoy their Irish soda bread, corned beef and cabbage or Guinness pot roast.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle of light beer
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 oz. blue curacao

Pour beer into a chilled glass. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Garnish as desired. Serves 1.
