Fireman Delivers a Baby, Then Two Days Later She’s in His Arms Again

View gallery

Often times, a firefighter rescue is just another day in the life of a local superhero. But this firefighter rescue was a special one, because it ended up changing the life of the firefighter himself–forever.

Mark Hadden got a somewhat routine call that a woman was in labor and needed help fast. As it turned out, she was so close to giving birth that the first responders had no time to get her to the hospital.

“Very quickly we learned that it was going to be a life changer for us,” Hadden said.

The next thing he knew, he was delivering the little baby girl named Grace right on the spot. After the successful delivery, he just had to call his wife Beth, who was just as excited as he was.

“When he called me he was ecstatic,” Beth said. “I mean, he delivered a baby. Who in the world gets to deliver a baby in their lifetime that’s not a doctor?”

But two days later, the couple got even more exciting news than they could ever imagine.

Since the Haddens had babies on the brain, wanting to add onto their family of four, they couldn’t believe their ears when the little girl Mark had just rescued was put up for adoption.

“We had had it on our minds and in our hearts for years to adopt, and we just left it in God’s hands,” said Beth. “We just said if it’s meant to be, it’s gonna be.”

It looks like it was! Just two days after Mark delivered this stranger’s baby, he was able to take her home with him.

“We are truly blessed,” he said.
