5 Beauty Hacks to Flatten Belly, Hide Stretch Marks, and More

These DIY tricks camouflage trouble spots to leave you slim, youthful, and confident all season.

Flatten a belly with grapefruit oil.

When massaged onto the abdomen, grapefruit oil’s diuretic compounds reduce inflammation and encourage the body to release retained fluids fast, says dermatologist Debra Jaliman, MD. Even better? A recent study found that massaging the oil on daily for six weeks decreased belly fat, waist size, and cellulite and significantly increased self-esteem.

Try it: Mix 3 drops of grapefruit oil, such as Aura Cacia Grapefruit Essential Oil ($10.84, AuraCacia.com) with 1 tsp. of olive oil, then massage onto the belly in a circular motion. Let sit 5 minutes; rinse.

Boost a saggy bust with “lifting” glue.

For swimsuits and strappy summer dresses with no bust support, a skin-safe adhesive, like Bosom Couture Boob Glue ($26.95, BosomCouture.com), can help. It works by adhering breasts to fabric, hoisting them up for all-day lift. Bonus: Its waterproof formula stands up to moisture from sweat and swimming.

Try it: After getting dressed, remove one breast from clothing and apply the glue liberally onto skin, avoiding the nipple area. Place back into garment and position for optimal lift; repeat with the other breast.

Perk up a droopy rear with a fanny “facial.”

Potent vitamins and minerals in sea salt increase circulation and draw excess water from cells, tightening skin to give the bottom a youthful boost. Pairing it with avocado oil (its fatty acids hydrate and plump skin) and honey (a humectant that helps skin look more taut and supple) speeds results.

Try it: Combine 1/2 cup of sea salt, 1/4 cup of avocado oil, and 1 Tbsp. of honey. Massage onto damp skin along the rear in circular motions for up to 1 minute; let sit 5 minutes, then rinse.

Shrink pit pudge with a 3-minute lymph massage.

The gentle rubbing motions of a massage stimulate lymphatic drainage to flush out trapped toxins and fluids that accumulate to create “false fat” in the underarm area, says Dr. Jaliman. The flattering result? Slimmer in 3 minutes!

Try it: Place one hand on each side of the neck below the ears and sweep down toward the shoulders five times. Then sweep fingertips outward along the collarbone five times. End by massaging the armpit area in a circular motion for 1 minute.

Mask stretch marks with this concealer.

A highly pigmented, waterproof concealer, such as Dermablend Quick Body Foundation Stick ($29, Dermablend.com), acts like a second layer of skin to “fill in” the pesky indented lines so they look less obvious.

Try it: Apply directly onto stretch marks, blend out with a cotton round and let dry 5 minutes.
