Shine Your Light Is A Journey of Empowerment and Transformation of 13 Women

“Shine Your Light” by April Adams Pertuis and collaborators

Under the leadership of Story Coach and Visibility Expert, April Adams Pertuis of LIGHTbeamers, 34 women have written and shared their extraordinary stories inside a trilogy of books highlighting their remarkable journeys. Their latest release, Shine Your Light is more than simply a collection of short stories; it’s a manuscript for building resilience and finding one’s own voice.

“A number of things can keep women from recognizing or experiencing their own light.” says Pertuis, “but that’s not the case with this book.” Shine Your Light is a journey of 13 amazing women who, despite all the obstacles they’ve faced, find their true selves. The obstacles range from life-changing events to more subtle changes, but the one thing they all have in common is the change that comes when they accept themselves for who they really are.

“Shine Your Light” is not just a book; it’s a source of inspiration. Whether you’ve felt your inner light dim or have yet to discover it, the stories within these pages will kindle the spark of courage and confidence to let your light shine. Each story in this collection is like a lighthouse, shining a light on others to find their place in the world.

This marks the completion of an ambitious trilogy that LIGHTbeamers set out to create. The journey began with “Elevate Your Voice,” continued with “Step Into Your Brave,” and now culminates with “Shine Your Light.” April Adams Pertuis shares her vision and passion for these projects, noting, “I’ve been building a community with women, encouraging them to share their stories, and be a cheerleader for them to step out from playing small, truly elevate their voices, step into their brave and shine their light.”

Collaborating with publisher, Lanette Pottle of Positivity Lady Press, LIGHTbeamers embarked on a mission to empower women to share their stories. What began as a single-book project soon expanded into a trilogy. These books have acted as a catalyst, allowing women to step out of the shadows and take big strides in their personal and professional lives.

Pertuis reflects on the impact of these books with great pride, saying, “I’m very proud of them. It’s a lot of hard work, a lot of tears and doubts, but  in the end, they realized their story can make an impact.”

Each of the 13 women in the book has a story that stands out and makes them feel empowered. They come from different backgrounds and walks of life, but their bravery in coming out and sharing their personal journey is what connects them. One of them was really brave to share a tough and traumatic story from her childhood, and was nervous about how revealing this story would impact her professional life. The book has created an opportunity for important conversations to unfold, bridging the gap between our personal and professional lives.

With the completion of this trilogy, LIGHTbeamers doesn’t plan to create more collaborative books. Instead, April Adams Pertuis wants to focus on helping these authors and other women further their storytelling journey by speaking in more rooms and on stages. She says, “Women need to go out there, and lead more conversations. They need to be in front of the room pushing the story forward.”

LIGHTbeamers’ continues to connect with women on a personal level to help them create their own books, tell their stories, boost their visibility, and amplify their voices. It continues to be a refuge for women who need guidance, coaching, and inspiration to Shine their Light.
