William and Kate Reveal Some Sweet (and Hilarious) Moments With the Kids in Isolation
Kate Middleton and Prince William are trying to keep things low-key as they isolate at their country home in Norfolk, but their children have other ideas, it seems.
The royal parents of three recently spoke to BBC Breakfast in a rare interview via a video call direct from their country home, where they candidly discussed some of the realities they’ve faced during the COVID-19 lockdown, and suffice to say there’s a refreshing element to their family life.
The pair sat down for an interview with BBC journalist Tina Daheley, where they discussed a new campaign for charity Every Mind Matters.
The royals lent their voices to the mental health campaign, which will include a video and a range of new resources to help people suffering anxiety, stress, and other issues in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
And in the frank discussion, there were several gems let slip by the royals that fans revelled in.
Speaking to Daheley, the parents opened up about homeschooling their children, revealing that they’d been a little bit sneaky when it came to the Easter break.
“Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept [home schooling] going through the holidays. I feel very mean,” Kate laughed.
With Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, they likely haven’t noticed they’re getting short changed here — and perhaps for the best!
The couple admitted that homeschooling was challenging, but stressed the importance of maintaining normality for their family amid the health crisis.
In another candid confession, the pair also revealed a sweet (and hilarious) detail about how one-year-old Prince Louis was coping (which is just fine, it seems).
Like many other families, Kate and Wills regularly make FaceTime calls to their close relatives with their children, including to grandad Prince Charles.
But Louis, who turns two this week, apparently isn’t having it — he’s a big fan of cutting calls short, apparently.
Kate told Tina: “I think [William’s] father and my parents and our families and things like that, have really loved keeping in touch with the children because it’s really hard. It gets a bit hectic, I am not going to lie, with a [nearly] two-year-old.”
William then added: “For some reason [Louis] sees the red button and he always wants to press the red button.”
We’re sure Charles isn’t taking it personally…
Kate and Wills gave us a glimpse of their three children from isolation back in March when they partook in the Clap for Carers initiative, which sees people across Britain break out into applause to honor the healthcare workers’ tireless efforts on the frontline.
Fans went into certifiable meltdown when the clip was shared — especially after setting eyes upon a tiny Prince Louis who was seen standing upright between his big brother and sister.
Here’s hoping we see some more of the him and his siblings as he celebrates his big day on April 23.
