Snag 80 percent off sneakers.

Love the low prices you get at factory outlets that offer discounts on sneakers and shoes from previous seasons? Great news: There’s a new trend that will save you even more on your favorite brands — warehouse outlet stores, such as Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse Stores, Skechers Warehouse Stores and Nike Clearance Warehouse Stores, which can be found throughout the country. These are clearance stores that liquidate excess stock, discontinued lines and odd sizes for up to 80 percent less than their original prices and less than what you’d pay at factory outlets.

Spend $100 less for a bike.

Thanks to a spike in interest for outdoor activities, used sporting goods stores have added items that cater to adults looking to have active outdoor fun. For example, at Play It Again Sports (PlayItAgainSports.com), a pre-owned Schwinn Majestic women’s bicycle sold for $49.99 — $100 less than a similar new Schwinn at Walmart. And a pre-owned badminton and volleyball set sold for $20 — about 50 percent less than new at Amazon. To find deals like these, search “resale store” in the Yellow Pages or “sports resale store” online.

Save 50 percent on leggings.

You don’t need to pay a fortune for comfortable, durable athleisure wear. Major retailers have launched their own high-quality private brands of active clothing costing about 50 percent less than many well-known fashion labels. For example, Target’s All in Motion collection starts at just $12 and includes T-shirts, shorts, leggings, joggers, and sports bras. J.C. Penney’s newly revamped Xersion brand includes yoga pants, workout shorts and sweatshirts starting at only $12. And Walmart’s Athletic Works and Avia athleisure wear lines start as low as $9.96.

Nab deals on fitness trackers.

A wearable fitness tracker can help monitor your steps, heart rate or calories burned. To get one for a steal, shop the “open box” department at Best Buy. You’ll find a wide range of trackers that have been returned, then inspected and guaranteed to work perfectly for up to 60 percent off. For example, an open box Samsung Galaxy Fit Activity Tracker + Heart Rate recently sold at Best Buy for $45 — a price cut of $55. To find similar deals online, visit Amazon.com, select Amazon Warehouse in the search box’s drop-down menu, then type “fitness tracker.”
