This bakeshop-beautiful delight is a snap to put together, thanks to boxed cake mix and prepared caramel.

Serving Size:

Active Time:

15 min.

Total Time:

1 hr.

  • 1 (15.25 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 2 tsp. apple pie spice
  • 6 Red Delicious apples
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • ½ cup caramel sauce

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Prepare cake mix as package directs, adding apple pie spice. Peel and core 2 apples; dice into small pieces. Fold into cake batter. Pour batter into greased and parchment-lined 10″ springform pan. Bake 45 min. or until done. Let cool completely. Remove cake from pan.
  2. Meanwhile, core remaining apples; slice in half and cut into ¼”-thick slices. In pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples; sauté 5 min. or until just crisp-tender.
  3. Place cake on platter. In heatproof bowl, microwave caramel 30 sec; add a pinch of salt, if desired. Pour half over cake. Arrange ⅔ of apples in circle around outer perimeter of cake. Arrange remaining apples in flower pattern in center. Drizzle with remaining caramel.
