Southwest Bean Burgers Recipe for a Satisfying Meatless Meal Under $2 a Serving
If you’re like us, you know there’s nothing better than sinking your teeth into a juicy burger. Let’s face it, this all-American classic is comfort food at its best. But here at Woman’s World, we’re always looking for budget-friendly ways to introduce better-for-you ingredients into our meals without sacrificing flavor. That’s what inspired us to come up with this Southwest Bean Burgers recipe — it’s delicious and costs just $1.76 a serving.
Beans are loaded with fiber and lower in fat and cholesterol than ground beef. Trouble is, when mashed and formed into patties, they sometimes have a reputation for being mushy. That’s why for our Southwest Bean Burgers recipe, we mash only some of the beans, then stir them into the remaining beans. This helps the patty hold together, plus it mimics that meaty texture we all love. For the finish, we coat the burgers with seasoned breadcrumbs to seal in juices. They cook up so mouthwateringly good, we promise that no one will miss the meat! Be sure to follow along in our video below, then give ’em a try and send us a comment.
