Key Takeaways

  • JCPenney and Authentic Brands Group have launched a Marilyn Monroe collection.
  • Mix basic staples like high‑rise jeans, button‑downs and beyond to emulate Marilyn.
  • Marilyn's timeless, casual looks are just as stunning as her bold and glamorous looks.

When thinking of Marilyn Monroe, our minds go to the times when she was dressed to the nines in elegant gowns, had her hair curled to perfection and was decked out in jewels that sparkled brighter than the stars in the sky—but it was the moments when she peeled back the layers and slipped into her true self, Norma Jeane, that you could truly see her for who she was. Today, JCPenney and Authentic Brand Groups launched the MM100 Collection, which pays homage to the everyday, ordinary looks the actress somehow made feel extraordinary. Sleek tailored jeans, crisp white button-downs and timeless sweaters round out this collection, and you won’t want to pass up the affordable and stylish offerings.

“Marilyn understood the power of a wardrobe staple, and that’s what makes this JCPenney capsule so meaningful,” said Jo Osborne, SVP and General Merchandising Manager at JCPenney, in a press release. “We wanted to build on JCPenney’s authentic place in Marilyn’s fashion history in a way that feels unexpected and relevant today. We curated the collection around pieces women would actually want to wear. It’s about bringing that Marilyn magic into everyday life, just in time for fall.”

Here, take a look at the pieces we’re loving most—side-by-side with the iconic looks that inspired them.

In 1954, Monroe starred in the hit western River of No Return—sporting a pair of JCPenney jeans, of course! According to a press release, “Monroe wore JCPenney jeans—a pair so iconic, it was later acquired by a famous American designer and displayed in his office.” Tommy Hilfiger was the designer in question, and in 2025, he sold them through Julien’s Auctions for $52,000, according to PEOPLE.

In the MM100 Collection, shoppers can pick from a few Marilyn-approved pants, including the Marilyn Monroe Women’s High Rise Jean ($54) and the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Plus High Rise Slim Fit Jean ($58). To bring an even more classic Marilyn look to life, try out the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Straight High Rise Classic Fit Ankle Pant ($54), the checkered pattern reminiscent of a style Marilyn had actually worn herself. To add a little extra dazzle to your look, the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Midi Pleated Skirt ($68) is a nod to that famed white dress that still stands out in our minds.

Top things off the Marilyn way

Another aspect of Marilyn’s classic, off-duty looks were sharp button-downs and cozy sweaters—and MM100 has you covered in that department as well. Channel the actress with the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Long Sleeve Cuffed Regular Fit Button-Down Shirt ($33), defined by its flattering fit. Emulate another beloved look with the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Straight Neck Long Sleeve Pullover Sweater ($44), or cozy up with the Marilyn Monroe Women’s Mock Neck 3/4 Sleeve Pullover Sweater ($44).

Whichever pieces you bring to life are sure to stun, for the Marilyn looks they’re inspired by were simply timeless. “Much like JCPenney, she has been a cultural inspiration that has stood the test of time, inspiring multiple generations,” said Dana Carpenter, EVP of Authentic Brands Group. “From her closet to yours, we look forward to everyone embracing the latest collection that suits who they are and who they want to be.”
