Spirit Christmas is Opening 30 Stores This Year—Here are the 2024 Finds We Hope Make a Comeback

Spirit Halloween stores have long been a go-to destination each fall, and soon many Americans will get to enjoy the shopping experience with a different holiday: Christmas! Spirit Christmas stores are coming back for a second year and expanding to even more locations around the country. Wondering what you can expect from a visit to the seasonal pop-up shop? Find out what cities are getting a Spirit Christmas store this year, and what unique holiday items you may be able to buy.
What is Spirit Christmas?
Last year, the founders of the iconic Spirit Halloween stores, Spencer Gifts, decided to venture into Christmas territory. The company launched 10 festive shops, borrowing some of the elements of its Halloween counterpart and adding new ones.
The website promises “a unique shopping experience,” as customers will find not only merchandise but displays and festive decor–like giant gingerbread houses—too. There’s also the chance for families of all ages to meet with Santa during their visit.
Will there be a Spirit Christmas near me?
Like Spirit Halloween, these temporary stores will be set up in existing but vacant retail spaces. Though the locations were few and far between in 2024, the number of stores will be expanded greatly this year, giving more shoppers around the U.S. a chance to visit. The company will open locations in 30 cities across 13 states.
Several of the stores will have their grand opening in October, with the rest following suit in November. Specific dates have not yet been provided about when each store will open (though on the official website you can see the expected month).

A look at the Spirit Christmas inventory
As of now, the website only features a handful of items available for purchase, with more coming soon. You can currently buy some oversized pieces like a 15-foot inflatable of the Bumble character from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or a 5-foot-2 light-up, animatronic nutcracker. Animatronics featuring iconic characters like Frosty the Snowman, the Misfit Toys and more will also be available.
If you’re looking for smaller, more affordable decor, it seems there will be plenty more options once the store opens. The website teases that aisles will be filled with stocking stuffers, gifts, apparel, more inflatables and other decor pieces.
Festive finds at Spirit Christmas

Plush Christmas bows
Ribbons and bows are a holiday staple, but we’ve never seen anything quite like these. These large, plush blows almost look like pillows and come in a wide variety of colors, from red and gold to green and silver. The possibilities for decorating with them are endless!
Novelty sweaters
If you need a new get-up for an ugly sweater Christmas party, this looks like the place to go! There were a number of sweaters featuring everything from garland and glitter to fringe and light-up elements. Many were inspired by pop culture and holiday flicks. We especially love this “Major Award” sweater based on the movie A Christmas Story.
Light-up displays
A dazzling alternative to inflatables, these light-up pieces could make for festive lawn decorations. The 2024 stores offered options like a snowman, tree, reindeer, Santa and more. The sparkling lights would certainly brighten up your outdoor display!
Amusing hats
Sure, Santa hats are classic Christmas attire, but what better conversation starter for a holiday party than one of these unique hats? The 2024 stock had some hilarious gems like upside-down Santa pants, Santa cowboy hats and large reindeer.
Nutcracker animatronics
There’s something so nostalgic about Christmas animatronics, maybe because it reminds us of department store displays. This singing nutcracker certainly catches the eye and almost makes you feel like a kid again just looking at him!
Though shoppers have to wait a bit to explore the new stores, there’s no doubt that Spirit Christmas will deliver holiday fun this year too!
