Trader Joe’s mini tote bags became an overnight sensation upon the initial launch in early 2024 in red, yellow, navy and forest green, but when the grocery store chain dropped its pastel spring totes, it sent customers into a frenzy.
The pastel mini totes were released two weeks before Easter, and the micro handheld shopping bags caused lines of shoppers to wrap around the building. Once they were all sold out, people began selling the bags on third-party websites for as much as $1,000.
Now, Trader Joe’s is re-releasing their viral pastel bags just in time for the warmer weather and shoppers can’t wait. Find out everything we know about the upcoming drop of mini spring totes, plus what else Trader Joe’s has in the pipeline.
When will the pastel mini totes return to stores?
Trader Joe’s shoppers have come to expect the release of the mini totes a couple of times per year but the spring bags are always the most anticipated. Trader Joe’s public relations manager, Nakia Rohde, shared that they will be back soon and that there is another exciting release in store.
“We plan to offer pastel mini canvas totes in your neighborhood Trader Joe’s store in mid-March,” Nakia Rohde shared. “There will not be a specific day the totes will arrive in all Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.”
These spring totes are always slightly different than the year prior, with the first pastel bags releasing in 2025 in the colors pink, blue, lavender and green. There is no photo of what this year’s totes will look like but with a price tag of $2.99, everybody wants to snag one of the bags no matter what. Following their success, the store dropped another line of the mini totes but in Halloween colors to match the season.
The bags are 13 inches long, 11 inches tall, and 6 inches wide making them perfect for a smaller shopping trip or to carry the essentials, like your phone, wallet and keys. With an exceptional price and stunning colors, these totes are a steal and will make your everyday look a little brighter.
Another Trader Joe’s canvas bag is on the way
But if you need a bag just a bit bigger than the mini tote, there is something else on the way to Trader Joe’s aisles that will have shoppers going crazy. Rohde shared news about another bag everyone will want to get their hands on.
“The next new bag will be a large canvas bag with lavender handles and a pink logo,” Rohde said.
