TV legend and icon, Mary Tyler Moore, lived in a home just as legendary as she was. The stunning estate that housed the actress, prior to her passing in 2017 at age 80, recently sold for a whopping $16.9 million in March 2025. With unreal views and a spacious indoors, the house and the land on which it sits have become an iconic spot in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Take a look inside the home of the late actress and learn more about the designs that truly made it, what her husband referred to as “Mary’s House.”

Inside ‘Mary’s House’: designed with husband Robert Levine

Moore and her husband, Robert Levine, purchased the Connecticut estate in 2006 for just $9 million. The home underwent extensive renovations to make it her house and her husband spoke about the changes made in 2023, just a few years after she passed.

The house is special to me because it is a house that Mary and I designed, with specific intention to make it welcoming, filled with natural light, open to the outside (so you feel a part of the natural surroundings), with intimate, purposeful spaces that offer comfort and a platform for display of her favorite things, including her many and diverse collections of objet d’art,” Levine shared of the house. “It is, unquestionably ‘Mary’s house’ well reflecting her classical design aesthetic and passion for detail and use of the finest materials and artisanal methods of construction.”

A look at the estate’s luxury features and expansive grounds

The home is 13,825 square feet, surrounded by 7.37 acres of property. Inside, you can find five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a glass conservatory, a gym with spa facilities, a 65-foot swimming pool, a jacuzzi, an outdoor fireplace and an elevator for convenience.

The estate also houses a one-bedroom apartment above its three-car garage, which also has its own kitchen and bathroom. The style and decor for the home were specifically curated by Moore and her husband after they moved in.

The history behind Mary Tyler Moore’s Georgian-style home

The Georgian-style home, which sits at 50 Dingletown Road in Greenwich, Connecticut, was originally built in 1900. In honor of history’s most trailblazing women, the house was granted landmark status in 2020 by the Greenwich Historical Society.

The house was listed in 2023 for $21.9 million and after a few price cuts over the next year and a half, it finally sold for $16.9 million earlier this year.
