After years of struggling with painful arthritis, 78-year-old rancher Ginger Kime was at her wits’ end. She’d tried various pain management techniques, but nothing was able to truly reduce her arthritis pain without causing side effects like fatigue or brain fog. Then she stumbled upon CBD for chronic pain relief, and to her amazement, it actually worked. Now she’s feeling better than ever and living the adventurous life she loves. See her inspiring story below, plus more ways topical CBD products, CBD oil or supplements can improve your health and wellbeing.

Ginger Kime’s struggle with arthritis pain

“How much longer can I go on like this?” Ginger groaned, wincing in pain as the morning sun peeked through her window. The Colorado rancher dreaded getting out of bed because every step sent agony shooting through her stiff knees.

Would you consider trying CBD products?

Ginger had spent her life riding horses, competing in rodeo events and working alongside her husband on their ranch before arthritis derailed her. And as her pain worsened, so did her quality of life. It had gotten so bad that she had to rely on a helping hand or a railing for support, and simply walking across the room was a challenge.

Over the years, Ginger tried prescription medications to reduce pain and  inflammation, but they left her groggy and in a constant fog, so she eventually gave them up. Ginger also explored creams and natural remedies, like massage therapy, but nothing had offered lasting relief for her joint pain.

Discovering CBD for pain relief

Then one afternoon, Ginger heard a family friend gushing about a CBD balm that renewed his mobility and energy. He said it contains 700 mg of CBG (cannabigerol) and 1,800 mg of CBD (cannabidiol) isolate, as well as menthol and camphor—all ingredients known for their quick-acting ability to boost blood flow and relieve painful inflammation, especially for people with arthritis.

Could this work for me? Ginger mused. Skeptical but hopeful, she researched further and discovered that studies on CBD suggest it possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and restore joint range of motion. She was relieved the balm was also free of THC (the mind-altering ingredient in cannabis) and wouldn’t impair her focus like the prescriptions had.

Can’t hurt to try! Ginger thought, taking a chance and purchasing the CBN pain-relief balm her friend recommended: Max Relief CBD + CBG Balm.

How CBD balm eased her arthritis symptoms

Ginger applied a small amount of CBD balm to her knees every morning—when they were at their achiest—and felt it absorb quickly into her skin, leaving no greasy residue. She was thrilled that her pain melted away after the first use. She continued using the balm every morning and occasionally at night if she felt a flare-up coming on. Ginger was so amazed by the pain relief that she convinced her husband, Chuck, to use the CBD balm on his knees and shoulders. One stick surprisingly lasted more than a month for both of them.

Today, Ginger swears by her daily CBD balm routine, and her debilitating pain and stiffness are a distant memory. She no longer needs to cling to railings for support and she’s back to living her active life on the ranch. “I’m so excited to carry on my work with strength and grace,” Ginger beams. “This balm didn’t just help my knee pain, it gave me my life back!”

More benefits of CBD: anxiety, heart health and sleep

While CBD has powerful pain relief properties, that’s not the only thing it can do. Quality CBD products can also improve your mood and health. Ask your doctor if it might be right for you.

It curbs anxiety

Find it difficult to chat with new people at a neighborhood get-together or when joining a new book club? Consider trying CBD. A Life journal review of 15 clinical trials found that a moderate dose, around 300 mg, consistently reduced anxiety during public speaking.

It supports heart health

Research published in the journal JCI Insight found that taking a single 600 mg dose of CBD daily dramatically lowered resting blood pressure and reduced stress-induced blood pressure spikes, keeping your heart healthy.

It improves sleep

A study published in the journal Nutrients found that participants who took just 50 mg of CBD a day fell asleep faster, had fewer nighttime awakenings and experienced better sleep quality overall.
