Chocolate chip cookies were created back in 1937 by Ruth Graves Wakefield at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. The idea came to her after she ran out of baker’s chocolate and decided to swap it for chopped-up Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar. Since then, the cookie has evolved from chopped-up chocolate bars to chocolate chips and has become one of the most popular desserts in the country. It is sold at a plethora of places, including the places that are giving them away for free below.

The beloved national cookie store Insomnia is going to be giving out free chocolate chip cookies with any purchase. This deal began on August 1 and stops today. It is available both in stores and through delivery.
Crumbl Cookies
Sadly, Crumbl isn’t giving away any free cookies today, but they do have their highly popular Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie on this week’s menu. According to them, it’s “Thick, soft, and packed with milk chocolate chips.”
