Link’n Lights Founder Lacey Roznovsky Reimagines Outdoor Living Through Personalized Lighting Design

Lacey Roznovsky, founder of Link’n Lights, has observed a shift in how people relate to their outdoor areas. In her experience, patios, gardens, decks and backyards are increasingly treated as everyday environments for gathering, relaxing and connecting rather than spaces reserved only for special occasions. She says, “Many homeowners are designing their outdoor spaces with the same intention they bring to interior rooms, allowing these areas to reflect personal lifestyle choices in more meaningful ways.”

Research appears to echo some of these patterns. According to a 2026 outdoor trends study, personal comfort and enjoyment are among the motivations homeowners cite when investing in outdoor updates. The study notes that 83% of renovated outdoor spaces include lounge or seating areas, and 66% of those lounges incorporate outdoor lighting, suggesting that lighting is becoming a more considered design element as people extend their living experiences outside.

“I believe that decorating decisions begin with a desire to create an atmosphere where people feel comfortable coming together,” Roznovsky states. That idea has shaped Link’n Lights’ mission to offer lighting that can adapt to the unique layouts, moods and moments that families enjoy outdoors.

Roznovsky notes that women often play a central role in shaping the feel of a home. Drawing from her own experience as a homeowner, mother and founder, she has seen many women lead decisions around decorating, entertaining and creating spaces that reflect family traditions and personal style. Outdoor design, in her view, offers another canvas for expression, whether for a family dinner, birthday celebration, girls’ night, summer gathering or holiday event.

“I’ve always felt that the character of a home shouldn’t be limited to its interior,” Roznovsky says. “When we gather, we move freely between indoors and outdoors, and I love when that same sense of warmth carries across the entire property.” That perspective grew from a simple moment. While arranging lights around a tree, Roznovsky wanted to extend strands across different branches but felt traditional options didn’t offer the flexibility she needed. That experience sparked a question that later shaped Link’n Lights: How could lighting adapt more naturally to different spaces?

Her response was a modular system centered on flexibility. By allowing users to connect additional strands through individual bulb sockets, Link’n Lights gives homeowners the ability to create layouts tailored to their own environments. Roznovsky sees this concept as part of a broader movement toward customizable products, solutions that may help people express their personalities rather than follow a single design template. “Sometimes the simplest ideas come from everyday moments,” she says. “For us, it started with realizing there could be an easier way to create the lighting designs people imagine.”

Personalization continues to influence modern home design, and Roznovsky believes outdoor areas offer countless possibilities. Whether it’s a backyard gathering space, garden pathway, or patio dining setup, lighting can help highlight details while shaping an atmosphere that aligns with how people live.

This mindset extends beyond seasonal decorating. While holiday displays remain popular, Roznovsky has noticed that many homeowners enjoy using outdoor lighting throughout the year. Summer evenings, weddings, graduations, birthdays and casual nights outside all become opportunities for lighting to adapt to different layouts and occasions.

Industry data appears to support this growing interest. A report shows that 82% of American homeowners have shown increased interest in updating outdoor spaces since before 2020, and 62% prioritize outdoor entertaining when searching for a new home. To Roznovsky, these trends suggest that outdoor environments are becoming meaningful spaces for connection and enjoyment.

For her, creating Link’n Lights was about simplifying a familiar experience. She views the product as a way to help homeowners bring their ideas to life confidently. “Sometimes I think of our lights almost like a branching beam of light,” Roznovsky explains. “You start with a single strand, and from that one point, you can guide the light outward in different directions, almost the way sunlight filters through the limbs of a tree.”

That sense of creative freedom reflects what Roznovsky sees as a larger shift in how people engage with design. She notes that homeowners are becoming active participants, using small changes to create memorable environments. Lighting, in her experience, can help transform everyday settings into places associated with celebrations, conversations and shared moments.

Roznovsky’s journey as a founder has also become a family experience. Her children have watched Link’n Lights grow, inspiring them to see creativity and problem-solving as paths worth exploring. Entrepreneurship, for her, is a way to model curiosity and possibility.

Overall, as homes continue to evolve, Roznovsky imagines a future where decorating centers on solutions that offer flexibility, longevity and creative freedom. Her vision reflects a world where products adapt to the lives people already lead, changing with seasons, gatherings and family moments. Through Link’n Lights, she continues exploring how a familiar element of home design might become a more customizable part of everyday living.
