Andie MacDowell Is the Queen of Hallmark! Inside Her Best Roles and Love for the Network
This iconic actress is a fixture on the channel we love!
We know and love her for her work in films like Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Groundhog Day (1993), and series like Maid, but another area of on-screen work where Andie MacDowell has found great success is on the Hallmark Channel. The 66-year-old actress kicked off her Hallmark career back in 2013 when she starred in Cedar Cove, a show based on Debbie Macomber’s series of books, and since then, she’s brought her Hollywood flair to the Hallmark screen.
Today, she’s thrilled to bring to life the character of Del Landry on Hallmark’s hit series The Way Home alongside Grey’s Anatomy’s Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow and Evan Williams. “I get so excited when I’m walking onto set,” she recently told PEOPLE. “It’s nice at my age and after all this time to have that feeling of joy. I’m very conscious of it, so I try to share it and tell everybody how lucky we are.”

Cedar Cove (2013-2015)
Andie MacDowell led this series as Judge Olivia Lockhart, a pillar in her quaint, coastal town of Cedar Cove. However, despite the respect she’s garnered from her community, like anyone else, she too must juggle her personal life, professional life, and the issues that come up in a small, tight-knit town. MacDowell was beloved in this role, and the setting alone made this a fan-favorite cozy watch.

At Home in Mitford (2017)
Cynthia Coppersmith (MacDowell) is a writer who finds herself inspired by her surroundings when she heads to the town of Mitford to settle her late uncle’s affairs. While there, she’s charmed by Father Tim Kavanaugh, played by Cameron Mathison, and the two grow close when they team up to help a local boy in need. Before long, Cynthia has found the inspiration she had been on the hunt for, while also finding a new sense of home and community in Mitford.
The Beach House (2018)
Minka Kelly stars as a young woman who returns home to her Southern roots, reconnecting with her mom, played by Andie MacDowell. While in the beachside town she grew up in, life takes her on an unexpected adventure as she repairs her family’s beach house, connects with the wildlife and finds an unexpected opportunity for romance.
The Way Home (2023-)
This multi-generational Hallmark drama has become a network sensation, and viewers can’t get enough of the Landry women who bring this story to life. The series follows Del, played by MacDowell, her daughter Kat, played by Chyler Leigh and her daughter Alice, played by Sadie Laflamme-Snow. Kat and her daughter return back home to Del after Kat said goodbye many years ago, and their reunion gets complicated when she and her daughter discover their ability to time travel, uncovering secrets associated with tragedies of their family’s past.
