Ella Langley has sung her way onto the country music scene over the last few years, and if her recent success is any indication of what’s to come for her, we’ll be hearing her gravelly, one-of-a-kind pipes for quite some time. While she’s of course known for hits such as “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her” and “Loving Life Again,” it’s her signature sense of style and unique look that’s set her apart from her country counterparts—and it’s one that’s been expertly crafted and cultivated over the last few years. From her Stevie Nicks-esque clothing to those iconic bangs, here’s the story of how Ella Langley got her look—and how you can get it too!
Ella Langley’s closet has transformed

Before Ella Langley found fame, her style still had the mild edge to it that defines her current look, but over the last few years, the songstress has truly fine-tuned her overall aesthetic—and we love the way she’s found her personal style! In an interview with InStyle promoting her recent collaboration with American Eagle, Ella described her fashion as “Western, bohemian and edgy,” sharing that she’s “drawn to denim, especially flares, kickboots and miniskirts.”
As for who inspires her when it comes to fashion, she revealed a few of the icons she often looks to.
“A lot of my inspiration when planning onstage looks with my stylist, Stef Colvin, starts with us referencing the greats—from Stevie Nicks to Cher—and seeing what they wore and how iconic it became. They built such strong brands through their onstage style, and that’s really inspiring to me. Then we take into consideration what works functionally for me. I need to be comfortable and able to move and dance on stage. From there, we get into the stylistic design—maybe a little bell sleeve, embellishments, fringe or animal print.”

When it comes to the looks we see her sporting when performing live, a lot of the pieces she’s wearing are harder to come by due to being vintage. “My stylist, Stefani Colvin, honestly has the best way of sourcing vintage items from multiple shops,” Langley told Southern Living. “I love swinging into vintage stores while out on tour and just seeing what speaks to me that day. Jackets and bags are usually what I’m eyeing.”
Ella Langley with no bangs? Unheard of!
Another aspect of Ella Langley’s style is her darling ‘do, and the singer sports a pair of bangs like nobody else does! Her shaggy fringe is pure ’70s charm, and the way they came to be was entirely accidental.
“I have a bad tendency to cut my own hair,” she revealed on This Past Weekend with Theo Von. “Most of the time it goes bad. That’s how I got bangs in the first place. I was wearing a cowboy hat for a while, and then I took it off because it was windy one show and it was pissing me off. I decided, ‘You know what, I’m gonna take it off,’ and I liked how my bangs were kind of around my face. Like 20 minutes before I walked out on stage, I decided to cut my fringe a little bit and it was so bad.”

Botching her DIY haircut the week before she was set to shoot the cover art for her first album, she had no choice but to fully go for the bangs—and the rest is history.
From bold bangs to vintage-inspired looks, Ella Langley’s style journey reminds us that the best looks aren’t always planned—sometimes they come from taking a chance and embracing happy accidents.
