Pat is currently married to Lesly Brown, who he met in 1988 at a sports bar and got engaged to a year later. For the most part, the two have kept their relationship private, but in 2019 Pat did share that Lesly was right by his side while he underwent surgery for a blocked intestine.

“You couldn’t do anything. I was in [a] fetal position, lying on the bed. They try to give you various drugs for the pain and none of it was working. Then they gave me something, I couldn’t even tell you the name of it, but suddenly I wasn’t thinking about the pain. I just had these beautiful pastels and lovely faces coming out of it,” he shared on Good Morning America in 2019.

“I felt badly for [my family]. I didn’t feel badly about dying. I felt badly that they were gonna have to deal with the aftermath,” he continued. “As it turned out, I was just high.”

Prior to Brown, Pat was married to Sherrill Sajak from 1979 to 1986, but the details of their relationship and split remain a mystery.

Pat and Brown have two children.  First came Patrick, who was born in 1990 and currently works as a doctor.

“Do you mind if I do a little parental bragging here?” Pat said to old co-host Vanna White on an episode of Wheel of Fortune in 2021. “So you know my son, Patrick, you’ve known him all his life. Well he’s made it through medical school and he is now officially Dr. Sajak. We’re all thrilled.”

“The only troubling part is he insists that I call him Dr. Sajak,” Pat continued. “Lesly and I couldn’t be prouder. I tried to get him into geriatrics, but he refused, but that’s a personal thing. Anyway, congratulations, son.”

Following that, Pat and Brown welcomed Maggie into the world in 1995. She currently works as a social media correspondent for Wheel of Fortune and often posts behind the scenes videos of the set, and her life with her dad, whom she worked with on the show for two years.

“It’s so much fun working with my dad…and we’re looking forward to even more fun in Season 41,” Maggie wrote back in 2024.

Pat also took the time to comment on his career, telling Maggie in a Wheel of Fortune episode in 2024, “You’ve heard me say this dozens of times. I’d rather leave a couple years too early than a couple of years too late. It’s been a great 40 years, and I’m looking forward to whatever’s ahead.”

As of publication, Pat has no grandchildren, but he’s hoping that will change.

“I’m perfectly happy if it just means that I’ll continue with my crossword puzzles and play with grandchildren. Hint hint hint. No pressure,” he told Maggie during his last Wheel of Fortune episode.
