Today’s Final Jeopardy isn’t necessarily a hard one, but it’s certainly a romantic one! That’s right trivia lovers, today we are going to answer all your burning questions about Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings’ personal life. From his wife of over 25 years to his kids, we’re revealing all. Read on for more.
Get to know Ken Jennings’ wife
Ken and Mindy Jennings’ story didn’t begin with instant romance. When they first met in 1996 at Brigham Young University—she was a theater major, he was studying English and computer science—their connection started as friendship.
That foundation would prove lasting. Over time, their relationship deepened, leading to an engagement a few years later—and, in 2000, a marriage just months after graduation. More than two decades later, they’re still together, a partnership that began not with sparks, but with something much stronger
That means, that yes, when Ken was a Jeopardy! competitor from June 2, 2004 to November 30, 2004, he was married to Mindy. Despite that, Ken has remained rather tight lipped about their love story. He did, however, post a picture of him with Mindy on their 25th Anniversary trip to Sydney, Australia in September 2025.

“I’m not sure where the years went or how I got this lucky, but this marriage is officially 25 years old. It can now rent a car,” he wrote in the caption. “This week is also the 25th anniversary of the Sydney Olympics, but that’s not why we’re here. That would be a weird system for planning an anniversary trip.”
Ken has also posted pictures of the two of them at a variety of events and dinners, but none of those captions are as loving as the one above. They mainly center around the event or dinner that the two attended.
Does Ken Jennings have kids?
Ken and Mindy have two kids: Dylan, who was born in 2002, and Caitlin, who was born in 2006. Both of them are in college now, meaning that they’re a couple of empty nesters.
“Child 2-of-2 has headed off to college, so we are officially out of kids,” Ken wrote on Instagram in September 2025. “The vacated bedroom is now a weird liminal space, which is sad. But on the plus side: for the first time in years, it’s clean enough to enjoy the old childhood murals I painted. They’re pretty fun! Aaaaand probably getting painted over.”
Prior to that, Ken sat down with Yahoo! Life in 2021, to discuss fatherhood, which he said was “a lot like being a cruise director.”
“People tend to remember their childhood as a constant, steady state, but when you see a kid from a parent’s eye, you realize there’s a new interest or a new quirk every few weeks. It’s eye-opening how your own perception of childhood maybe isn’t that accurate. You need to be ready for your kid to have a new challenge or obsession monthly—or more,” he suggested. “Parenting is always a moving target: you’re really just responding to the current needs of the kid, which might be different [needs] than six months ago. So it’s a lot of listening, because the kid will tell you what you they need—but it’s not going to be what you expect and it’s not what you remember you needing at their age.”

Ken and Mindy currently live in Seattle, Washington, but can oftentimes be found in Los Angeles, California, which is where Jeopardy! Is filmed. He is 51 years old.
“Even though we tape Jeopardy! in L.A., I commute,” he said in January of this year, per The Seattle Times. “I fly down every few weeks. We do five shows in a day. That’s kind of the secret—as soon as one game ends, I rush backstage and put on a new tie.”
“I can still live here in my favorite place on Earth, here in beautiful Seattle, Washington,” Ken continued. “It does leave me time to still be part of the Seattle community and help out where I can.”
