Toward the end of the segment, Fallon shared a card that read, “I love that song ‘Choosin’ Texas’ by Ella Langley and I’m really excited to see Matthew McConaughey’s new movie The Rivals of Amziah King, where he performs in a bluegrass band. If there was only a way to combine those things, that would be a dream come true.”
From there, McConaughey and Fallon gave a one-of-a-kind bluegrass performance of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” alongside The Last Bison. McConaughey stole the show, and it didn’t take long for folks to start buzzing about it—Ella Langley included! “No, I mean, it’s not any more of a thing than it was or probably any less of a thing than it was that did hit the headlines there for a while,” McConaughey shared. “Taylor and I have spoken and have continued to have conversations about what [it could be] and if that would be whatever. But nothing’s real yet.”
