Ever since her daughter Alex welcomed her little bundle of joy, Sofia, the television personality, cookbook author, chef and blogger has been utterly obsessed—and can you blame her?! In a series of posts shared to her Instagram story, Ree shared a few snapshots of her out on walks throughout the day, pushing Sofia in a stroller on what looks to be her expansive property. In the first photo, we see her blocking her eyes from the sun with a caption that reads, “Babysitting,” while the next clip in the series is of one of her sweet pups running toward her, captioned, “Wait for me, mom.” Later in the day, she went on to share a sweet sunset photo of her kneeling alongside baby Sofia in her stroller. “Sofia has made me go on three walks in 24 hours,” the proud grandma revealed.

In the next photo shared, Ree has the giggles as she remains bent down next to her granddaughter. “I couldn’t get up,” she wrote over the post. “I’m laughing on the outside, but I was actually concerned.” Ree concluded her walk photo dump with a stunning snapshot of her, her daughters Alex and Paige, and baby Sofia—now that’s what we call a day well spent! While it might be baby Sofia who gave Ree the push to get moving over the last few days, The Pioneer Woman star has been open about her health and weight loss journey that took place over the last few years.

Ree opens up about her fitness and weight loss journey

Back in 2021, Ree opened up on her blog about how she slimmed down ahead of her daughter Alex’s wedding through healthy eating and consistent exercise, and back in April, she took to her blog once again to share that he had jumped back into the initial plan that worked for her years prior. “The game changer for me is two-fold: First, I’m building muscle again, which is crucial. I do lunges, squats, deadlifts, and floor exercises with ankle weights. Second, I’m eating more protein and keeping it a higher percentage of my calories,” she revealed. She also shared that she was no longer weighing her portions or counting calories, as doing so the first time around gave her a clearer idea of healthy portion sizes, and instead of cutting out alcohol completely like this time, she’ll indulge in a wine spritzer-style drink here and there.

While her exercise might not really be contingent upon Sofia’s presence in her life, the little tot certainly keeps her moving, as the latest video posted to her Instagram account shows her busting a move to keep Sofia entertained! Between staying active, prioritizing her health, and soaking up precious moments with baby Sofia, Ree is proof that the grandma years truly are some of the best years of life!
