Alex Drummond’s Before-and-After Pics of Baby Sofia Are the Cutest Thing You’ll See Today
The new mom shared an adorable side-by-side photo of her baby proving just how fast babies grow!
The world is full of uncertainties, but one thing we know for sure is that Ree Drummond is loving grandma life more than anything. The mastermind behind The Pioneer Woman television series and brand has been sharing the love with the world ever since her daughter Alex and her husband Mauricio welcomed baby Sofia at the end of 2024, and with the sweet bundle of joy having just celebrated three months, we can’t believe how much she’s grown! In a post Alex shared to her Instagram story, we see the sweet little girl sat sleepy and comfortable in her rocker as just a newborn pasted above a photo of her more recently. “2 months difference,” Alex wrote over the photos accompanied with some teary-eyed emojis.
Alex keeps it honest when it comes to motherhood
Since welcoming baby Sofia in December, Alex has shown the highlights of her little bundle of joy’s life, while also showcasing the honest side of motherhood and the reality of adjusting to life as a first-time mom. “Best/most challenging/most fulfilling 3 months ever. 1/4 of a year with our sweet Sofia! Now stop growing,” she wrote in the caption of her daughter’s three-month update Instagram post, being truthful about how difficult parenting can be sometimes. Furthermore, she’s always one to get real about the difficulties of adjusting to life with a newborn.
Back in January, Alex documented a night out spent with her husband, siblings and little girl out at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in Texas, and while they were all smiles, she was sure to let everyone know that making your way out and about for some socializing with a newborn is no simple task. “Getting out of the house feels like an Olympic sport these days,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram story of her adorable little family. “We had the cutest little ‘rodeo’ themed outfit for her and she spit up all over it right before walking out our door lol,” she wrote on another post.
Just the other day, Alex shared another photo of her baby to her Instagram story on her very first trip to beloved supermarket Trader Joe’s—and their reasoning for hitting the grocery store was something else that’s all-too-relatable to new parents. “Trying to eat at home more because it feels like we have been eating out nonstop since we had her,” Alex wrote over the photo of Sofia looking adorable as ever in her stroller while Mauricio shopped ahead of her for a few ingredients.
Ree Drummond is happy to lend a hand
While Alex is navigating everything that comes with first-time motherhood, she’s lucky to have a support system, especially one including her doting mom, to help love and care for Sofia. “When your firstborn has a baby that looks exactly like she looked, you get to relive all the delicious feelings of first-time motherhood, but without the sleep deprivation, hormones, and confusion,” Ree wrote in the caption of her Instagram photo last week. “I didn’t think I was ready yet to cross over to the granny side of the street, but Lord in Heaven…I am loving it and I’m so grateful for this gift.”
