An exciting new western will be hitting screens before we know it, and the cast is stacked to the brim with actors and actresses that have grown rather familiar with the genre over the last few years. The Rescue, set to hit theaters on January 29, 2027, stars Brandon Sklenar and is about a rodeo cowboy whose daughter goes missing—sending him on a mission unlike any other to find her.
Sklenar’s rise to fame was largely thanks to his role in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel series, 1923, and joining him in this film are a few other Yellowstone alumni. Josh Lucas, who played a young John Dutton, joins the cast, as well as Hassie Harrison, who played Laramie, a barrel racer who stirred things up at the ranch. Josh Duhamel also joins the movie, and while he might not have been apart of the Yellowstone universe, he’s enjoying a western ride of his own as he stars in Netflix’s Ransom Canyon. Tim Blake Nelson, known for his role in O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), will also play a part in this film, as well as Austin Amelio from The Walking Dead.
As the premiere of this film inches closer, we’re itching to get to know the cast bringing it to life—who they are, where they’re from and especially, who they love!
