‘Dash & Lily’
While not technically a movie, the 2020 holiday-centric Netflix show Dash & Lily has a super sweet Hanukkah-centric episode, which follows Dash (Austin Abrams) and Lily (Modori Francis) as they get to know each other during the holiday season. It’s fun, easy to watch and will have you needing to know what happens next.
“What I’m really happy about isy that we got to film it right before the pandemic happened. I feel like there is a sense of nostalgia because New York obviously isn’t like that right now. I think it’ll hopefully be really nice for people to be able to watch. It’s a bit calming and warm, which I’m happy to be a part of,” Adrams told People magazine in 2020. “No one had any idea that this was going to happen, but I am happy that it’s coming out now. As I said, being able to see New York, how it was last year. I feel like it’s nice, I feel like that’s a nice thing to see and I feel we could all use some sort of cheering up to a degree just because times are so freaking tough right now. I am very happy about that.”

‘You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah’
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah isn’t technically set over Hanukkah, but it does have the cozy, family-friendly vibe we all want this time of year. In it, two friends find themselves going head-to-head while trying to plan their bat mitzvahs. It’s cute, quirky and stars Adam Sandler’s entire family.
“The Sandlers made me part of the family,” director Sammi Cohen told Decider in 2023. “A Jewish family is very much a Jewish family. There’s a lot of talking and excitement and eating. The girls did my nails.”
