Now, with the last dregs of winter digging its heels in, folks are looking for something gripping and enticing to cozy up to—and Hallmark’s March mysteries are a must-watch for that very thing. Here, we have the brand new premieres hitting the network over the next few weeks. Grab your detective hat and magnifying glass and gear up for some crime-solving from the couch!
Alison Sweeney returns in a new Hannah Swensen locked-in mystery
For years, Alison Sweeney has been showcasing her range on the Hallmark Channel, and though we love her as a romantic leading lady, there’s something about seeing her shine in the mystery genre that scratches an itch in our brain!
On March 7, she’s saddling back up for yet another Hannah Swensen mystery, and this time, there’s much at stake. In Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, Hannah finds herself at the grand opening of the Lake Eden Inn, where a body has been discovered. Soon, a storm traps all the attendees at the inn—causing her to race against the clock to figure out who is responsible for this mysterious death before the roads clear up and the culprit can escape. Alongside Sweeney are Victor Webster and Barbara Niven. Fans can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds.
“I have, of course, a long-time love of mystery, and I was inspired by the classics like Agatha Christie for the locked-in concept,” Sweeney, who also wrote the film, recently told TV Goodness. “I love it because it creates all sorts of different problems for the characters, and you can’t follow the rules and the chain of evidence and the normal way it would go. And I think that was a fun twist for this story.” She continued, “I had to add, of course, weather, so that they are trapped in this building. And then it just made it fun because they all have to brainstorm together to figure out their way out of this and what’s gonna happen.”

Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith reunite in a new ‘Nelly Knows Mysteries’ film
Another fan-favorite Hallmark film series is Nelly Knows Mysteries, and Pascale Hutton is back and better than ever in the title role, once again teaming up with Kavan Smith in Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder. This time, Nelly and Detective Michael have their work cut out for them: What begins as a cozy dinner party turns deadly when a guest is murdered, forcing the duo to put their heads together in a classic closed‑room mystery. These When Calls the Heart costars shine in this clever whodunit, premiering Saturday, March 14 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel and streaming the following day on Hallmark+.
