Last time on ‘Boston Blue’

If you’ll recall, viewers last saw Jonah in the midst of a great struggle. Throughout the midseason finale, titled “Collateral Damage,” Jonah was plagued with the fact that his father’s murderer, Ronan Flaherty, had been released from prison. He spent the episode, emotions high, determining whether or not he should act on his dark thoughts.

The episode ended with Jonah following Ronan into an empty building, but when  gunshots rang out, things took a turn. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Sean (Mika Amonsen) discover Jonah next to the body of Ronan, but it was unclear whether Jonah was responsible for his death.

Throughout that episode, we’ve seen Jonah go on an emotional journey spurred by the murder of his father, by decisions his mother made, by advice from his grandfather,” creator Brandon Sonnier said. “It involves the entire family. But when you get down to that moment, Jonah was alone, and no one was really there to see what happened until the last minute when Sean came in. I do wonder: How mad was he? How angry is he in that moment? What is he capable of? And what really happened?”
