The Tennessee native is taking on a new and exciting venture
You’ve likely seen her shine on stage in her countless viral standup routines, caught her Netflix special, Leanne Morgan: I’ve Every Woman, saw her in the Prime comedy You’re Cordially Invited or perhaps even read her book, What in the World?!: A Southern Woman’s Guide to Laughing at Life’s Unexpected Curveballs and Beautiful Blessings. Now, Leanne Morgan is dipping her toes in the sitcom world with a comedy series of her own, and we legitimately cannot contain our excitement over seeing this blonde funny lady on our screens in her very own series. Though the all-new sitcom isn’t exactly based on her life, it is based on her comedy, and if you’ve seen her dish about her hilarious kiddos and husband Chuck on stage before, then you know you’re in for a treat. Here, everything we know about Leanne, coming to Netflix soon!
What is ‘Leanne’ about?
When her husband of over three decades leaves her for a younger woman, Leanne goes through the motions of putting the pieces of her life back together with the help of her closest loved ones, and maybe, a little bit of romance. We can’t wait for all the laughs headed our way!

“This has been a dream of mine since I was 9 years old,” Morgan told Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY with Jenna & Friends. Morgan was approached by TV icon Chuck Lorre, known for creating shows like The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men. “He came up with it, this premise of my husband of 34 years wants a divorce and does it over an email, and has had an affair with a younger woman. And here I am, a grandmama with two grown children, I’ve always been a stay-at-home mom, like, what is my life gonna be now? And finding my purpose.”
Who else is in the ‘Leanne’ cast?
Alongside Leanne Morgan is Kristen Johnson playing the part of her sister, Carol. Though the pair have completely different personalities, Carol is there for her sister through her darkest days. Graham Rogers will play Leanne’s son and light of her life, while Hannah Pilkes brings to life her rebellious daughter. Ryan Stiles is playing the part of Leanne’s ex-husband Bill, who ultimately ends their marriage, and bringing to life Leanne’s mom and dad are Celia Weston and Blake Clark.

“When I started comedy 25 years ago, my goal was to be a part of a sitcom,” Leanne Morgan told Netflix’s Tudum. “It just goes to show you it’s never too late, and dreams do come true. I’m a grandmama from Tennessee, and now I have a TV show with Chuck Lorre and Netflix. What in the world!?”
When does ‘Leanne’ premiere on Netflix?
On July 31, all 16 episodes of Leanne will hit Netflix. Don’t miss this laugh-out-loud comedy!
