You may also already know how Dallas enjoys chatting with fans on live streams, and his most recent stream was packed with surprises. Dallas gave fans an inside look at what’s ahead for Seasons 6 and 7, including an emotional conversation with Amber Shana Williams, and exciting sneak peeks from Season 6.

From behind-the-scenes moments to powerful first glimpses of what’s to come, Woman’s World is sharing the scoop on all we know so far about The Chosen Season 6 straight from Dallas himself!

Sneak peek of Season 6, Episode 1

During the live stream, Dallas premiered a 30-second short clip of Season 6, Episode 1 (at the 30:10 mark on the link above) that picks up after Jesus is arrested and the disciples are deciding what they will do next without Jesus.

“These are the little things that you don’t always think about when you’re remembering or reading the Gospel story — how the word was spread about Judas, how the disciples were figuring out what to do,” says Dallas.

“The kind theme of Season 6, in many ways, is how devastated and confused the followers of Jesus were, but they still had to trust and they still had to have faith.”

Dallas and The Chosen team released the first marketing piece of Season 6 with an image of Jesus carrying the cross when they announced that Season 6 would debut on November 15, 2026.

“This image — I get emotional thinking about it. It’s almost instant tears. This season is going to be important. This is going to be big. Episodes 1-6 are coming to streaming this fall, and then the crucifixion movie coming in the new year.”

But as for Dallas, the weight of what is in store for Season 6 still makes him emotional. “I get both really moved because of what I know is coming and what we’ve been doing on Season 6,” he explains. “It’s kind of triggering for me because of how challenging that was, by far the hardest thing that we’ve ever done. The hardest thing I’ve ever done in my career. It’s bittersweet in many ways.”

Behind-the-scenes of filming Jesus carrying the cross

Dallas also shares a BTS video of how the crew filmed the scene where Jesus carries the cross (at 40:13 in the link above). The crew mentions the “heavens were crying” as the sky turned black and it started raining during the filming of this particular scene. “You can feel the somberness of the atmosphere,” some of the extras say.

They show the crew created the cross and the crown of thorns, and how the background actors prepared their own hearts to watch as Jesus walked through the crowds with the cross on his back.

At ChosenCon, Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, told the audience, “Don’t abandon Jesus in His greatest hour of need.” And Dallas could not agree more.

“Now, of course, Jonathan isn’t Jesus, but he’s portraying Jesus, and we’re portraying this story in a way that is going to be more visceral than when you’re just reading it on the page,” Dallas urges viewers. “Obviously, we will never fully comprehend the suffering that he went through, but getting just a taste of it by seeing it portrayed and letting it speak to us and letting it encourage us in our own suffering.”

Dallas also discusses the delays in production of Season 6 and why it’s taking them longer to make this season than previous seasons.

“Season 6 is taking abnormally long because we’re going to be getting all the languages translated at the same time, maybe not all of them, but as many languages as possible translated,” he says. “So that when it’s released, it comes out in those languages at the same time, which we’ve never done before. That takes a long time. The visual effects in the season are more extensive than anything we’ve ever done, and so that takes a long time.”

Season 7 is already in progress

“We start filming [Season 7] in about a month, and wow, the scripts are done. Of course, we’re making some adjustments for budget. We’re making adjustments for schedule. This is going to be another long season of filming for us. We want to finish strong. We want to land the plane in a very beautiful way,” says Dallas.

“We have the responses to the scripts from the cast and from some of those who’ve been reading them. So far, I’m getting texts of just excitement and tears and joy and beauty and all these things that I think you’re going to see in Season 7, but that’s a ways away.”

“Filming is always painful,” he confesses, “It takes a long time. I can’t say I’m actually looking forward to it. It’s also going to be a little bit sad because it’s our final season of filming. So there’s a lot to come with that.”

Insights from a beloved castmate

Next, Dallas sits down with Amber Shana Williams, who plays Tamar in The Chosen series (at 53:10). The duo reflects on the intensity of filming Season 6 of The Chosen and how re-watching the footage takes Amber right back to those difficult moments.

“I just remember being there with my girls, cooking under that sun, balling our eyes out for hours and hours,” Amber says. “The only thing that made it a little bit easier to handle and to just cope with was the fact that we’re all doing it together.”

To prepare for emotionally demanding scenes, Amber describes intentionally isolating herself to stay in the right headspace. “I usually stop spending so much time with my castmates, with my friends, with my family, because they bring me joy.” This separation helped her fully access the depth required for Tamar’s most painful moments.

As the series approaches its final season, both Dallas and Amber feel the emotional weight of saying goodbye to a project that has become deeply personal.

“Since the middle of Season 4, I have been crying about it,” says Amber. “This is probably the last time we’ll be like this together.”

Looking ahead, Amber touches on the difference between Season 6 and Season 7, explaining that “Season 7 is like that exhale that you have been waiting to release for so long,” marking both an emotional release and a heartfelt farewell.

Sneak peek of Season 6

Dallas closes the live stream with another peek at a powerful scene from Episode 1 (at 1:36:19), where the disciples are questioning why Jesus let this happen and why Judas betrayed him.

“What this scene is about is what we do when we are in the midst of suffering, sadness, confusion, doubt, pain, all of those things,” Dallas says, “We get a lesson in the scene of where to turn and who to turn to.

As the live stream wraps, The Chosen fans will continue waiting with anticipation for all that is in store for the next season and for Season 7 to come. Dallas reminds fans that the Jesus he is showing the world is the Jesus we’ve always known.

“The cool thing is, I’m not introducing a new Jesus,” he says. “I’m simply revealing a personal, intimate, authentic Jesus that has always been there. A Jesus who laughs, who tells jokes, who dances with his friends, who cries with his friends — those moments that seem small on the surface are actually the moments that are, for whatever reason, unlocking so many people’s experience with God all over the world.”

As The Chosen continues amassing larger audiences around the globe, Dallas, the cast, and the crew are hard at work to continue bringing the Bible to life in a powerful way.
