‘The Chosen’ Creator Shares Season 6 Sneak Peek and New Projects in ‘Chosen Cinematic Universe’
Dallas Jenkins reveals bold new plans for 'The Chosen' universe
In a highly anticipated livestream on August 31, The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins unveiled the future of 5&2 Studios — and it’s bigger than anyone imagined. From sneak peeks of The Chosen Season 6 to brand-new series, animated adventures, and a groundbreaking collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, Jenkins introduced what he’s calling the “Chosen Cinematic Universe.”
With powerful storytelling, faith-based themes, and high production value, these new projects promise to reach global audiences across generations. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, there’s never been a more exciting time to witness what God is doing through 5&2 Studios.
‘The Chosen’ Season 6: what Dallas Jenkins revealed
Jenkins first previewed a clip of behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of Season 6 (13:42-16:43), where viewers get a look at Jenkins and Jonathan Roumie praying together on set, the 600 background extras they used to film several scenes and the actors goofing around off-camera.
Jenkins described the filming of Season 6 so far as “very difficult, but very beautiful. The hardest season of our lives.”

He revealed plans for the finale to debut as a feature‑length film, and for every episode to be released at the same time. Although Season 6 is not fully funded yet (viewers can donate at The Come and See Foundation), and they have a long way to go in post-production and to translate it all into as many languages at once.
Filming was nearing completion, with only about seven days left as of that Sunday night. The entire season was shot in multiple locations — including in Italy and on a detailed Jerusalem replica set in Utah and Texas.
Jenkins says Season 6 will be released in late summer or early fall of 2026, but he is confident that the wait will be worth it, as he says, “The footage is extraordinary.”
Animated spin-off: ‘The Chosen Adventures’ on Prime Video
Jenkins shared an animated spin‑off coming to Prime Video on October 17th. It will be released in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. The children’s show will be centered on two children who are featured in Episode 3, Season 1 of the original “Mothership” show — Abby and Joshua — across a 14‑episode series through the children’s eyes.
It’s catered towards children, but Jenkins says, “It’s funny enough, charming enough, and I believe, good enough that parents will enjoy the show as well!”
He shares a scene from Episode 1, Season 1 (20:16-22:24), where Jonathan Roumie also voices the animated character of Jesus.
Bear Grylls joins ‘The Chosen’ cast in the wild
Jenkins reveals The Chosen’s collab with Bear Grylls in an unscripted adventure series in collaboration with Bear Grylls — who is a follower of Jesus and gets deeper behind-the-scenes.
In the preview clip (34:38-38:52), Liz Tabish (who plays Mary Magdalene in The Chosen) joins Grylls outdoors, offering personal reflections and deeper insights into their experiences on The Chosen.
This series will stream on Prime Video in the spring of 2026, and will show Dallas, Luke Dimyan (Judas), Noah James (Andrew), Jonathan Roumie (Jesus), Paras Patel (Matthew) and Liz Tabish being pushed to the edge with Bear Grylls.

‘Joseph of Egypt’: Dallas Jenkins’ next live-action series
A new live‑action miniseries, Joseph of Egypt, is currently filming near Albuquerque, New Mexico, with production overseen by 5&2. Jenkins shared that the new show will be interconnected with The Chosen series.
However, Prime Video is financing and producing the series, and Dallas and 5&2 Studios will have the final creative say. He will be approving the project to ensure it stays Biblically faithful.
Dallas shares a clip of the series (46:52-51:35) that will be the first project outside of The Chosen and the beginning of the “Chosen Cinematic Universe.”

A new animated film: ‘David’
5&2 Studios is partnering with Slingshot Productions to deliver the animated film David, recounting the life of the famed Old Testament king.
Jenkins presented a sneak peek of the upcoming film (55:54-57:01) that will be a global theatrical release that has not yet been announced.
Exclusive preview of Episode 2, Season 6
Dallas shares a rough cut of Season 6 (1:07:30-1:11:14), where he says there has been no music added and no fixes or edits made yet.
Viewers get a peek inside the drama that will unfold around the crucifixion of Jesus, and see a heart-wrenching conversation between John and Judas.
Mini-documentary for Season 5
Next, Jenkins premiered a 30‑minute behind-the-scenes documentary on Season 5’s production (1:15:24-1:45:04).
Additionally, Jenkins announced that Season 5 will be available via The Chosen app starting September 28, 2025 — including actor interviews and bonus content.
With bold vision and unwavering faith, Dallas Jenkins and 5&2 Studios are transforming biblical storytelling for a new generation. These new projects promise not only powerful entertainment but meaningful impact. As the “Chosen Cinematic Universe” unfolds, there is one thing viewers can be sure of: the best is yet to come.
