Everything to Know About the Upcoming 6th Season of ‘The Chosen’ and Why It Might Take Some Time

Patience is key while waiting for Season 6 of The Chosen and Dallas Jenkins, creator of the series, wants you to know that. With Season 5 recently concluding its powerful run—ending with the emotionally charged depiction of the Last Supper—fans are already eager for the next installment and are asking when Season 6 will be released.
However, Jenkins has cautioned that Season 6 may take longer than previous seasons, but reassures fans not to worry.The action has already begun as the filming of the sixth season is currently ongoing. It just might need a little longer to simmer before its released.
Jenkins opened up about the reason for the delay of Season 6 and why you shouldn’t worry about it.
“The process of getting these seasons to you at the cadence that we’ve been doing has been extraordinarily taxing on the team,” Jenkins shared in an interview. “The quality control process has been much faster and tighter than most shows and movies. That’s caused a lot of pain, a lot of challenges.”
He added that his crew deserves more breathing room, particularly as the show ramps up in scale and complexity.
“The team that works on this is extraordinarily stretched thin, and so it’s just a very, very difficult process…” he says. “They’ve been begging me to give a little bit more of a cushion. And so, we’re going to definitely be doing that for future seasons.”
What will Season 6 of ‘The Chosen’ entail?
After Season 5 came to a monumental end with the Last Supper, it’s likely that Season 6 will take on a much darker tone, documenting the final days of the life of Jesus. Jenkins explains that he and the team are working hard to bring this part of the story to life.
“Please be grateful for the fact that we try to get it to you as soon as possible,” Jenkins said. “Be grateful for the fact that the show has grown and gotten bigger, and that we are trying to satisfy the needs of everyone around the world.”

Amazon MGM has signed with the series to make Prime Video the go-to streaming service for all of the seasons currently out, as well as the upcoming ones. Amazon MGM will also be the distributor of the Season 6 and 7 theatrical release.
Season 6 is currently in production with the original cast continuing in their roles, with Jonathan Roumie starring as Jesus. The show—as many fans know—is a massive success among viewers, having been watched over 600 millions times across all platforms, highlighting the global impact of the story. The Chosen is now available to watch in more than 50 languages, making it even more accessible worldwide.
