Bonjour, Emily in Paris fans! It looks like the Seine is finally on our side, because after many months of waiting, we have some much-needed updates on Season 5 of the show, including who will be returning to The Eiffel Tower and who is expected to put down their Passport and leave Paris for good. Plus, where will Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) be headed this season? Many of her fellow marketing executives say Rome, especially after what happened in that explosive Season 4 finale, but can our American-turned-Parisian really leave the city of love behind? We look into all of that and more below!

What to know about ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5

Netflix confirmed that Emily in Paris Season 5 will be released in April 2025. It is expected to follow Emily (Collins) as she transitions from life in Paris to life in Rome. This shift in location comes after the character meets a handsome Italian man named Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Season 4 and decides to move to Rome to be with him. She is also expected to open an office for Agence Grateau there.

“We’re thrilled with the incredible response to [Season 4] of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!” creator Darren Star told Tudum by Netflix in April.

Now, just because the show will take place in Rome doesn’t mean Paris won’t be a central figure in the show. Star says, “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”

Collins is especially excited for this change, telling Tudum, “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance. We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”

‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 cast: A look at who will be leaving and returning

Aside from Collins and Franceschini, several other Emily in Paris stars are expected to return for Season 5. These include Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Lucien Laviscount, Thalia Besson, William Abadie and fan favorite Ashley Park.

Not returning, however, is Camille Razat, who played Camille, Emily’s friend turned love rival. The actress recently shared that she would not be returning for Season 5 of the show despite being one of the central characters.

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories. I’m deeply grateful to @starmandarren and the entire team at @netflix and @paramountpics for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of [the] Emily In Paris world.”

“This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons,” she continued. “I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the beautiful ride.”

Collins commented on the post, saying, “Love you, sister. It’s been a wild ride and an absolute pleasure. You’re a rockstar. So proud of you.” Several other cast members also voiced their love and support for Razat in the comments.

As of publication, she is the only cast member who isn’t expected to return.

It was also recently announced that Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill and Suits L.A.) and Michèle Laroque (Brillantissime and The Closet) would be joining the show’s fifth season.
