Jenna Bush Hager talks ‘Off Campus’

Off Campus started off as a book series by Elle Kennedy before turning into an Amazon Prime TV show. There are five books in the series—The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, The Goal and The Legacy—but Kennedy has since expanded the world into a variety of other series and standalone novels.
“I, myself, as a middle-aged person, am obsessed with Off Campus,” Jenna said on Tuesday, June 16. “It’s about a music student [Hannah Wells, played by Ella Bright] and a hockey player [Garrett Graham, played by Belmont Cameli] who pretend to be dating, but it turns into a real romance.”
Jenna Bush Hager reveals what to watch after ‘Off Campus’
From steamy hockey tales to twisted romantic thrillers, here’s what Jenna thinks people should watch after bingeing Off Campus.
‘Maxton Hall’

Jenna describes the Maxton Hall TV show based on Mona Kasten’s bestselling series as “a steamy German romance about a student and a wealthy heir whose worlds collide after she uncovers a secret involving his family, and they struggle to resist their growing attraction.” The main characters are Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James Beaufort (Damian Hardung), both of whom are expected to return for the highly anticipated third season.
Maxton Hall is available to stream on Prime Video, and Jenna herself even said it “looks great.”
‘Forever’

According to Jenna, “If you loved the romance and athlete-driven storylines of Off Campus, Forever gives you a similar vibe that follows two former childhood friends and rising athletes whose reunion sparks an unexpected first love. It is packed with chemistry and heat.”
Forever is based on Judy Blume’s bestselling book of the same name and stars Lovie Simone as Keisha Clark and Michael Cooper Jr. as Justin Edwards. It’s currently available to stream on Netflix.
‘Tell Me Lies’

Despite being a little darker than Off Campus, Jenna says Tell Me Lies, which follows Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), is perfect for people looking for shows like the hockey romance. Jenna says, “it follows a group of students whose relationships become tangled in secrets and obsession over the course of several years. It’s intense, it’s complicated and it’s filled with drama.”
Tell Me Lies was inspired by Carola Lovering’s book of the same name and is available to stream on Hulu.
‘Heated Rivalry’

If the hockey element was your favorite part of Off Campus, don’t miss Heated Rivalry, which was inspired by Rachel Reid’s bestselling novel and follows rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) as they deal with the love and loathing they feel for one another.
“We all like romances, and of course, we have to give an honorable mention, which I’m sure many of you have already seen, to Heated Rivalry,” Jenna said. “If you haven’t seen it, it’s also a must-watch.”
Heated Rivalry is available to stream on HBO Max.
