Earlier this summer, Leanne Morgan brought us 16 episodes of laughter, joy and relatability. Leanne, the Netflix sitcom, is the story of a Tennessee grandmother whose husband of 30 years leaves her for another woman—who just so happens to be having his baby. Though the mom of two is rattled at first, with the support of her sister Carol, played by Kristen Johnston, her quirky and eccentric family members and a handsome new love interest, she is able to pick up the pieces and put herself back together.

The series, based on Leanne Morgan’s comedy, was heartwarming and hilarious in its depiction of the struggle of starting over when you least expect you’ll have to. Her voyage of self-rediscovery after devoting so many years to others was inspiring while still being laugh-out-loud funny, and it’s the reason the sitcom has been renewed for a second season! Earlier this week, Netflix announced that Leanne would be back for season 2, and we can hardly wait to see what’s in store for her and her crew.

“I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast and especially for all the fans of the show. Y’all did this for us, and we can’t wait to be back!,” said Leanne to Netflix’s Tudum. “Much thanks and gratitude to Netflix for this amazing opportunity,” said co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre. “Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being and an absolute joy to work with.”

When does ‘Leanne’ season 2 come out?

While the second season of Leanne doesn’t yet have a release date, you can stream all 16 episodes of the first season on Netflix today.

Who is returning in ‘Leanne’ season 2?

While the cast for the second season has not yet been confirmed, fans can certainly expect to see Leanne Morgan, as well her sister Carol, played expertly and hilariously by Kristen Johnston. Leanne’s relationship with Andrew, portrayed by Tim Daly, was still evolving by the time the first season concluded, so we can anticipate seeing him in the second season. Additionally, there’s a good chance that Ryan Stiles will make his return as Bill, Leanne’s ex. Josie, her daughter, played by Hannah Pilkes, is also likely to make a return appearance, as well as her son, played by Graham Rogers. And fans can only hope that we’ll get to see Celia Weston and Blake Clark back as Leanne’s hilarious mom and dad!
