Having lost his wife and, soon after, his teenage son, Staten has walls built around his heart that prove to be nearly impossible to break through. This headstrong cowboy, bound by tradition and honor, leads the series expertly, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the stoic owner of Double K Ranch.

First he was bad, then he was good, and now he’s…bad again? Yancy Grey cornered the market on tortured bad boys you should probably steer clear of, but there’s something about this charming cowboy that pulled us in over and over again. His blossoming romance with Ellie had us swooning, but the arrival of a woman claiming to be his wife at the end of the first season has us scratching our heads.

On paper, Davis Collins seems to have it all, but anyone who’s watched Ransom Canyon knows that despite the good looks and charm of his portrayer Eoin Macken, Davis isn’t really the kind of guy you want to get involved with when there are plenty of fish in the sea—but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t fall under the category of hunky cowboys!
James Brolin as Cap: the veteran rancher with gravitas

Cap Fuller, the no-nonsense rancher, was a character we came to feel deeply for. While James Brolin has long been on the acting scene, it’s safe to say that the actor has earned his hunky cowboy status amongst this cast.

The Ransom Canyon cutie that no one saw coming, Lucas’s older brother Kit proved he was more than just a troubled man reeling from his father’s abandonment when he protected Lauren during the tornado and took the fall for her mother when she killed Staten’s son Randall. Though we’re hoping to learn more about this character, he’s already got us interested.

A complicated man who struggles in his relationship with his daughter Lauren as well as with his wife Margaret, Sheriff Dan showed that he was capable of doing the right thing when he arrested his wife for the role she played in Randall’s death.
Justin Johnson Cortez as Kai: the underdog we need more of

Though not too much is known about Kai, what we do know is that this deputy on the police force had history with Ellie and might have had a dark past before straightening his life out.
