Baskin-Robbins Lets Parents Chill Out With $1.99 Scoops and a Candy-Inspired Summer Flavor

Baskin-Robbins is on a mission to make this summer the best one yet for parents across the country. On June 11, the world’s largest chain of specialty ice cream announced its Parents Pass promotion, which makes scoops of any ice cream just $1.99. The promotion is exclusively available to Baskin-Robbins Rewards members.
How to get $1.99 ice cream at Baskin-Robbins
Baskin-Robbins’ Parents Pass promotion will be available June 16-27 at participating locations nationwide, Monday through Friday. Summer can be a hard time for parents, between early swim practices and long, hot days at the park. “That’s why we’re giving parents a break with the Parent Pass. It’s our way of saying, ‘You’ve got this—and we’ve got the ice cream to help you through it,’” Baskin-Robbins said in a press release.
Baskin-Robbins’ sweet history of innovation
Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 by brother-in-laws Irv Robbins and Burt Baskin. Eighty years ago, when the brand was created, ice cream stores usually had only three flavors: strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. Baskin-Robbins wanted to do more, so they launched 31 innovative flavors, changing the ice-cream game forever. Today, Baskin-Robbins has 1,400 flavors under its belt and more than 7,800 store locations in over 50 countries outside of the U.S., according to the website.
Flavor of the month: Trolli Sour Blast
Baskin-Robbins is also partnering with Trolli for the June flavor of the month: Trolli Sour Blast. “We all remember those carefree moments—from grabbing candy at the corner store to hanging out with friends until the streetlights came on,” the company said in a May press release about the new flavor. “The new limited-edition Trolli treats are a sweet way to reconnect with that energy and make new memories along the way.”
The new flavor is inspired by the iconic Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers gummy candy and features Trolli lime-flavored ice cream and orange-flavored sherbet, with lime-flavored swirls twisted into the sour, sweet base. Baskin-Robbins will also be offering a Trolli Dirt ‘n Worms Sundae, a dessert made up of layers of chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, crushed Oreo cookies and a couple of mini Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers. The Trolli Sour Blast Fizz, a blend of the Trolli Sour Blast frozen treat with STARRY Lemon-Lime soda, will also temporarily be on the menu.
