When Girl Scout cookie season rolls around each year, fans of these classic confections look forward to the favorites that typically return each year, such as Samoas, Tagalongs and Thin Mints. But for the next cookie season, an all-new sandwich cookie is joining the mix—and it’s inspired by a beloved ice cream flavor. Here, read all about Exploremores, with a flavor profile that pays homage to rocky road!

New Girl Scout cookie Exploremores hitting cookie booths in 2026

At the end of the 2025 cookie season, Girl Scouts of the USA discontinued their S’mores and Toast-Yay! cookies, but they announced today that their 2026 cookie lineup would be expanding to include Exploremores, a sandwich cookie inspired by rocky road ice cream. Rocky road is traditionally defined by a chocolate ice cream base with marshmallows and almonds mixed in. Exploremores tap into that delicious flavor combination with a dose of chocolatey goodness combined with marshmallow and toasted almond-flavored cream. We’re already drooling!

The cookies are said to “reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout,”and  you can expect to get your hands on this new flavor at booths across the United States, from Girl Scouts going door to door and online once cookie season rolls around in January. When you purchase a box of cookies from a troop in your neighborhood, proceeds stay local, helping young girls in your community to learn and grow. To receive notifications about when these cookies are on sale in your area, text “Cookies” to 59618. When Girl Scout cookie season approaches, you can also visit their site and input your ZIP code, and you will be directed to booths nearby.

Girl Scout cookie Exploremore dupes

Can’t wait until January to test out Exploremores? We’ve got you covered. While it’s hard to find an exact replica of the Exploremores, with the chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond flavors in grocery stores, a few of our favorite cookies on shelves might scratch that itch until you can get your hands on them for yourself—but you may have to eat more than one type at once to get the perfect flavor!

To get your chocolate fix, reach for Keebler’s E.L. Fudge cookies, sold at Target and other popular retailers. They consist of two biscuits with chocolate fudge cream filling in between. Another option is the Dare Foods Chocolate Fudge Sandwich Creme cookies, sold at Walmart. If you’re looking forward to that distinct almond flavor, Stella D’Oro’s Almond Delight cookies, sold at Walmart and other popular grocery stores, are the perfect fix. If the marshmallows in rocky road are your favorite part, you’re probably seeking out something that emulates the sweetness associated with those fluffy white morsels. Cookies like Nabisco’s Mallomars or Pinwheels Pure Chocolate and Marshmallow cookies are just the thing for you.

As for the rest of the Girl Scout cookie lineup, if you find yourself longing for the satisfyingly sweet taste of an indulgent Samoa or a rich Do-Si-Do and don’t have any left from last cookie season, fans have discovered countless Girl Scout cookie dupes that are sure to help you through the cookie-less stretch.
