The council created the holiday as a way to encourage Swedes to make more baked goods—like the beloved cinnamon roll—at home. Cinnamon rolls are a popular part of the culture, with many Swedes enjoying them during coffee breaks. Since then, the Swedish holiday (Kanelbullens Dag) has grown in popularity and even expanded to other countries. American businesses have also joined in the fun, offering special deals for fans of the pastry.

National Cinnamon Roll Day Deals
Cinnabon
On the holiday only, you can enjoy a classic cinnamon roll for just $1. Cinnabon’s website says their world-famous treat “is made with a combination of warm dough, legendary Makara cinnamon and signature cream cheese frosting for a freshly baked, irresistible sweet treat.” You can get additional toppings or customizations for the pastry, but know they’ll cost a little more.
The caveat: You must be a Cinnabon rewards member, though it is free to sign up.
The offer is good on October 4 from 1:00-4:00 pm local time at participating locations and while supplies last. You must go visit one of the bakeries in person to use the deal and you can’t combine it with any other offer.
Kroger
Fans of Kroger’s homemade baked goods, listen up! The American supermarket chain, which has locations in 35 states, is giving away a complimentary cinnamon roll to customers.
According to The Krazy Coupon Lady on Instagram, the supermarket chain is offering this sweet deal to anyone. All you need to do to snag one for yourself is head to the bakery at your local Kroger store. The rolls are only available while supplies last, so don’t wait to stop by if you have a craving!
Schlotzsky’s
This restaurant chain may be known for its pizza and sandwiches, but it also has a cafe bakery that sells Cinnabon products. And from October 2 to 5, Schlotzky’s rewards members can enjoy a Cinnabon MiniBon free of charge. These rolls have all the delicious flavor of the classic roll, but in a smaller size.
