Editor-in-Chief Liz Vaccariello on Celebrating 1 Year With Woman’s World: ‘What a Joyful Year It’s Been’
Liz opens up about her first anniversary with the magazine and what sets Woman's World apart
This week marks Editor-in-Chief Liz Vaccariello’s first anniversary with Woman’s World. Here, she reflects on the “joyful” experiences of the past 12 months, the special place the readers hold in the hearts of the editorial staff and the cover stars that set Woman’s World apart from the pack. Read her letter below as well as in the print magazine of Woman’s World, available at your local newsstand, supermarket or Walmart as well as through the Magazine Shop.

This week marks a year since I joined Woman’s World. I remember last holiday season, poring over reader letters in front of my fireplace, and hunching over my computer later to look at the research about why Woman’s World continues to be the #1 selling magazine at grocery stores week after week after week. Let’s take a look at some of the themes:
You have a deep long-lasting relationship with Woman’s World. The magazine feels like a close friend, a safe, happy place. In particular, you:
- Appreciate seeing your faith represented in the stories and cover stars (like CeCe Winans and Karen Kingsbury).
- Know you can depend on it as a place of comfort and joy, an escape from the day-to-day.
- Love making the cozy, comforting recipes, plus anything that evokes cheesy goodness and chocolaty delights.
- Have a heart for uplifting stories about helping others, especially if they center around military and animals.
- Are drawn to natural, inexpensive health cures for everyday ailments.
- Are cost-conscious and love a good deal, so we try to bring you more of that!
The bestselling cover this year was the Savannah Guthrie issue, followed closely by Dr. Mary Claire Haver, known for creating awareness and providing science-based interventions for perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
Reader favorites also included Tamron Hall, Babs Costello and our Easter issue with Kelly Senyei. Your favorite columns include the real-life hero story each week, as well as the mix of stories making you happy and healthy at any age!
Ultimately, the phrase that kept coming up was some version of this: “Sitting down with my Woman’s World just brings me joy.”
Joy is our business
Joy is also the perfect word to describe the cover subject of this holiday issue. Home and holiday expert and Q50 Ambassador Sandra Lee shares her recipes for a delicious Christmas feast, party-ready sips and snacks, plus her tips to making the holidays magical.

I was thrilled to get to know Sandra better this past April, thanks to the movement started by QVC celebrating women 50+ who are authentically and powerfully living their best lives in midlife and beyond! It’s a life stage QVC calls the Age of Possibility.

Meanwhile, I am wishing all of our readers—new and long-standing alike—a joyful holiday season and a prosperous, healthy new year!
