A Sister’s Signs from Heaven: How One Woman Found Comfort in Her Time of Grief
From rainbows to a hummingbird, Sue’s sister sent signs from Heaven, offering love and comfort
The day before I lost my sister, she had eerily told me she might die before her husband, who is suffering from dementia. She was a survivor of being burned over 70% of her body, a 10-year survivor of lung cancer, and six months earlier, she survived a heart attack with 97% blockage in her main artery.
That following Sunday, she stumbled off her porch and hit the side of her head very hard. Paramedics took her to the hospital, and within a few hours, the hospital transferred her to a specialty trauma center after intubating her.
A neurosurgeon was called for emergency surgery, and the next day, she began to fail and because of her DNR, she was taken off life support. Before I said my final goodbye, I asked her to send me signs from Heaven. Driving home there was the most beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan, and I knew then, she had just passed.
She then began sending even more signs. Her number appeared on our house phone the day after she passed, and no one had used her phone. At her funeral, a light in the hallway was flickering. My nephew’s wife and I both saw a large, beautiful swirling rainbow by the flickering light. I had asked her that morning before her service to show me a rainbow.
During the service, I felt a light tapping on my head and then a soft breeze passed between me and her son. The day after the funeral, we had a small family gathering, and I asked her to send me another sign. I asked for a hummingbird to appear, and one flew right by.
I believe there is an afterlife, and I am comforted by all of the signs she gave me. Even though we were 10 years apart, we always called each other daily.
I don’t want to ever lose touch with her spirit, so I am open to receiving more communication from her. Her signs from beyond gave me peace and comfort to know that her soul was free of pain, and she was finally at peace.
