After my mother’s unexpected passing two days after Mother’s Day, we were stunned and brokenhearted. My sister and I cared for her while she suffered progressive loss of mobility, heart and circulatory issues.

After my mother’s viewing, my sister and I were talking at our kitchen table, when she suddenly had a vision of the moment of my mother’s death.

In her vision, she saw a very tall angel standing in front of my mother seated in her wheelchair. This angel’s face was covered in light, and he was dressed in white. My sister saw my mother’s face full of awe and wonder as she lifted her arms for the angel to take her soul with his feathered wings. We were so encouraged by that vision!

Then recently, I was thinking about a particular time when I was caring for my mother, and she shared a song with me that she loved as a child. The lyrics to the song are, “I love you a bushel and a peck…and a hug around the neck; a barrel and a heap and I’m talking in my sleep about you.” She and I always had so much fun singing that song together as I helped her get ready for bed.

Feeling melancholy thinking of how I missed her one afternoon while shopping, I felt a nudge to look at a section of the store with dish towels. I was in shock as my eyes locked onto the design of this particular Swedish dishcloth that had the same lyrics to the fun song that we used to sing together. I know this was a definite sign from Mom in Heaven where the angel took her!

“Lisa’s experience is a beautiful example of how our loved ones connect with us after they’ve passed,” says Sunny Dawn Johnson, a global authority on the angelic realm, with a portfolio of 22 books, including popular titles such as Invoking the Archangels, The Love Never Ends, and 365 Days of Angel Prayers. “The dishcloth with the lyrics to a song she shared with her mother wasn’t a coincidence—it was a sign meant to remind her that their bond remains unbroken. Our loved ones often send us signs through meaningful symbols, songs or everyday items that carry a special connection. These moments reassure us that they are watching over us. When we stay open to these signs, we find comfort in knowing their spirit continues to be present in our lives.”
