When it comes to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many love to display framed photos of their little ones around their home. And it appears that Queen Elizabeth is no different. On Wednesday, the 95-year-old monarch presented English concert organist Thomas Trotter with the Queen’s Medal for Music at an audience at Windsor Castle.

But, royal fans were more taken with an unseen photo sitting pride of place on her table that featured several of her and Prince Philip’s great-grandchildren.

In the framed picture, the Queen and Philip sit on a sofa with their eldest great-grandchildren. From left to right, Peter and Autumn Phillips’ youngest daughter Isla Phillips can be seen on the left in a red dress.

A young Princess Charlotte sits on the Queen’s lap, Prince George stands behind the sofa, Zara and Mike Tindall’s eldest daughter Lena Tindall sits next to Philip. While Peter and Autumn’s eldest daughter Savannah stands proudly next to her late great-grandfather. The picture appears to have been taken around 2015 to 2016.

Royal fans also noticed that another photo of the Queen and her late husband with their great-grandchildren was also sitting beside it. However, that one was previously shared by the Kate Middleton and Prince William after Prince Philip’s passing in April. Taken by the Kate in 2018 at Balmoral Castle, the photo depicts the Queen and Philip with Prince George, Prince Louis, Savannah Phillips, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips, Lena and Mia Tindall.

The Queen is currently a great-grandmother of 12 — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s son August Brooksbank, Zara and Mike Tindall’s son Lucas Tindall, Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor and Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi have joined the family since.

In a documentary for the Queen’s 90th birthday in 2016, Kate revealed the sweet way the Queen treats the youngest members of her family, adding that a young Prince George called her “Gan-Gan.”

“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay. That just shows, I think, her love for her family,” she said.

What’s more, the Queen has a soft spot for one of her great-grandchildren. “The Queen was really thrilled that [Charlotte] was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors,” Kate confessed.

Royal expert and editor of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward told The Sun that the Queen has a special bond with William and Kate’s 6-year-old daughter. “While Prince Philip loved babies, the Queen has always preferred being around children when they are a bit older, especially if it involves teaching them to sit astride a horse. Princess Charlotte — who is pony-mad — has always been a favorite,” Ingrid told the publication.
