Mini buckets are everywhere this year, with people searching stores for the trendy low-cost must-have. But believe it or not, it’s not the only bucket that’s sparked attention. Lowe’s recently dropped an eye-catching mini bucket necklace inspired by the popularity of its own tiny pail and it’s blowing up on social media. Wondering how you can get the viral find for yourself? Keep reading to learn more about the Lowe’s mini bucket necklace, plus the details on the original mini bucket and clever ways to use it.

What is the Lowe’s mini bucket necklace?

Following the success of the mini bucket, the home-improvement chain launched a blinged-out Ice Bucket Chain. The hilarious find was inspired by a collaboration with NFL pro Justin Jefferson, who is known for wearing bling while on the field.

The athlete revealed the necklace on Instagram on November 13 in the most dramatic way possible—a video of the accessory being lifted out of a pile of clear gemstones. “From game day [to] the appliance aisle, gotta keep it icy. Me & @loweshomeimprovement cooked up somethin’ special,” the caption reads.

The specially made piece includes a silver sparkling image of the Lowe’s mini bucket secured to a large chain necklace. It’s easily one of the most unique variations of the tiny pail trend!

Once news of the special-edition bucket necklace hit social media, it didn’t take long for fans to snatch one up before they were gone. Unsurprisingly, the necklace sold out in just two hours.

Thankfully, you’ll have a second chance to join in the fun! Lowe’s is releasing a second wave of the mini bucket necklaces next week, dropping them on Friday, 11/21 at 8 a.m. EST. Head to the retailer’s Instagram account to find the link to buy the limited-time necklace!

What is the Lowe’s mini bucket and why has it been viral?

Like any home-improvement store, Lowe’s has plenty of utility buckets for sale. But this particular product is becoming viral for a very different reason: it’s mini! At just 3.9″ high, 3.5″ wide and with a .4-quart (or 12.8 ounces—that’s less liquid than in a bottle of water) capacity, the popular bucket is all the rage right now because it’s almost too cute to pass up.

It’s also incredibly affordable at just $1.98. If you can manage to find the buckets in stock, you could snag a handful for various uses and barely put a dent in your wallet.

Though this bucket isn’t a new release for the store, there’s a unique spin to the Lowe’s mini bucket that has contributed to its virality. There’s now a version of the bucket that is made from BPA-free, food-grade plastic so people are able to fill it with snacks, drinks and dessert concoctions. The results have been both entertaining and surprising.

How the Lowe’s mini bucket is being used in the food industry

Since word has gotten around that this bucket is food-safe, some businesses have put it to good use. Earlier this month, The Root Beer Stande in Dayton, Ohio, made headlines when it started serving up “dirt sundaes” in the mini bucket.

Emily Collins, the owner of the stand, told the Dayton Daily News she believes the bucket sundaes have been so popular because people love “cute, little, cheap things.” She also includes a mini plastic shovel with the treat in lieu of a traditional spoon.

Even Denny’s has jumped on the mini bucket fun by posting its own meme. An Instagram post shows a photoshopped picture of a stack of pancakes next to a Lowe’s mini bucket that’s filled with maple syrup. “What I’m doing with the mini bucket btw,” the restaurant captioned the photo.

How to buy the Lowe’s mini bucket

If you want to get one of these mini buckets for yourself, the good news is that they’re still available in stock. As of now, they can be purchased in-store or online with a caveat: While you can order online, they won’t be shipped to you. You’ll have to choose the pick up or delivery option when you check out.

The website shows a maximum quantity of five when you order online, though it’s possible this limitation is not in place for mini buckets purchased in store.

You might have to act fast if the mini bucket is calling your name–it’s one of the store’s current best sellers, according to the product page. (It also notes that 100,000 of the buckets were purchased in the last week.)

Not sure what to do with your mini bucket once you get it? Social media users have plenty of ideas! Here are some of our favorites:

Of course, if you don’t want to use them as your go-to coffee cup, the buckets are still ideal for simply storing small household items. The Lowe’s website shows them being used to hold pens, paintbrushes and more.

Affordable mini bucket dupes

If you don’t have a Lowe’s store near you, you may not have to miss out on the viral mini bucket fun. Menards, a big-box store that operates 341 stores in 15 states, has its own version available.

The Menards Mini-Pail is roughly the same size as the Lowe’s product, and is also made of food-safe material. Plus, it actually runs a bit cheaper! It’s currently available for $1.11 or 99 cents after a mail-in rebate.

The only downside: It does not come with a lid, so it might not be a good fit if you plan on using it to take a drink on-the-go. (The Root Beer Stande was reportedly using the Menards pails for their sundaes earlier this summer, so this version is still great for other food items.)

Home Depot also has its own non-Halloween mini bucket available for purchase ($11.95), which can serve as pen storage, a planter and more.

With so many affordable, too-cute buckets available, the possibilities for creative uses are endless!
